A World Turned Upside Down

Eric's Life

Eric POV 

I can't believe we made it to the soccer championships. I had always wanted to make it the championships with my team I am what you call the team captain and jock around these parts. I am also an honors student and i work hard to balance my classes and sports. Of course my whole team has been pushing me to the limit. I also feel so blessed that i was able to get this far in  the soccer season with my team. My dad is the number one person in my family that supports me. I also am part of the spanish club. I have my friends Jose, Aries, Alonzo and the rest of the members of my team. All the girls pretty much have crushes on me except for on girl but I haven't really built up the courage to talk to her. I guess if I think about my friend Jose always talks about her maybe he likes her and at times I see her at lunch but she always sits by herself in the corner of the lunch room. I feel so bad for her because she is all lonely but don't let this fool you I have tried to talk to her  but all the girls that like me crowd around me and as soon as i get away from them she is gone. She kind of has that element of mystery to her.

My mother on the other hand wants me to start dating and i always say  that i am to busy with the team. She tells me to grow a pair and start dating a girl. I say mom i really have to practice  more if i ever want to accomplish my goal of being a professional soccer player. Eric's mother says oh shut it eric you need a woman in your life besides me your mother. She says eric just promise me if there is a girl you have in mind that you will ask her out one of these days because you know me and your father won't be here forever you know. Eric said I know I just really don't want to talk about this mom and I promise you. Eric's mother leaves the room. his father enter's the room and says your mother is right you know. He says I know you to just want was is best for me. His father replies yes I do son now get ready we have to go to practice for the soccer championship on friday. Eric gets his gear on and wonder's why his father wants to go to practice so early. I just get in the car and we talk about what winning this championship would mean for the school 

                             Meanwhile Jose and Aries are there and we start soccer warm ups and i see the mysterious girl from school. I think to myself that she looks so pretty and a want to talk to her but my father gives us the you better win or i will personally beat your ass look . So me and the guys start working even harder. I am telling you it's like my father has all this rage that he actually willing to beat us up. Of course it is just a look after all. Jose asks me what is with my dad being so hard on the team. i say there is a lot at stake for us and the school if we don't we all will be ridiculed. Aries tells me how my dad is having him practice scoring soccer goals. I say practice makes perfect. Aries says let me check your temperature oh wait you have turned into your father. I say not cool dude. jose says just leave Eric alone aries at least he has been to your house and went through your secret stash of weird stuff. Aries says well that is just a stupid comment. My father signals us to go back to practicing and we all start to work even harder than before.
