"Hello?" A voice greeted, but it wasn't Carson's.
"Oh! Hey Nicolette!" Zoe "ooh"-ed at how Sydney replied to their other roommate. Crystal just sat in confusion. Who was Nicolette?
"Where's Carson?"
"Dealing with a customer. What do you need?"
"Ask her if we have room for a kid at the condo." There was no talking for a few minutes.
"Uhm... wel-- Ugh, who was Zoe 'repaying' now?"
"Noooo~ That's not what I meant! Zoe found an abandoned kid in a fire, so she wants to care for her for awhile." Sydney looked back at Crystal, who was quietly enjoying her coffee.
"... Well, I'll ask her. But you know you'll have to explain yourself."
"I ain't explaining shit!"
"What did I say about swearing?"
"Whatever... I'll talk to you later."
"Bye~" Sydney put away her phone and picked up the tray she left on their table.
"What did Nicolette say?"
"She said she'd ask Carson, but you have to explain fully to her."
"God, Carson such a stickler.." Zoe folded her glasses and put them down. Crystal stares at Sydney and Zoe. "What's wrong, kiddo?"
"... Who.. Who's Nicolette?" Zoe smirked.
"Sydney's little... Girlfriend~~" Zoe looked at Sydney, whose face was as red as a ripe tomato. Zoe turned back laughing as Sydney looked over her shoulder to find her supervisor chatting with a customer. Then, she turned back and BAMMM~~~
"Owwwwww!!" Zoe screamed in agony. Crystal covered her mouth. She had never seen such violence in her 6 years of life.
"Why did you hit her with the tray??"
"I'm wondering the same fucking thing!!" Zoe said through her gritted teeth. She gave Sydney a dirty look. Sydney hushed her voice.
"You know Nicolette is not my girlfriend, so quit telling everyone that!!" Zoe laughs.
"Yeah, I know. It's just fun to watch you blush like the tomato who saw the salad dressing!!" Sydney, unamusingly, stared at Zoe.
"I'll see you guys later. Gotta back to the kitchen." Sydney turned and walked away from their table.
"Bye Sydney!!" Crystal waved to her, even though she didn't see her.
"Well, meanwhile... If Carson is gonna approve of you living with us," Zoe leaned back in her chair as she discussed their strategy. "You gotta look presentable." Crystal looked at her sooted and ripped dress.
"Well, how are we gonna fix that?"
"Come with me!!" Zoe grabbed Cryst,al by her wrist.
"Wait don't we need to pay??"
"If you're friends with the waiter or waitress, free food!!" Zoe rushed Crystal out of the cafe doors, before she got caught lying to Crystal.
"Where's Zoe and Crystal--" Sydney stopped mid-sentence when she saw no money on the table. "ZOE!!"
