The Start of Something New

Mark POV

I was heading to my campus, when my phone began to vibrate and play "Baby Got Back." I knew it was Sean McCoughlin, or as I called him Jack. I pick up my phone, and ignored Jacks Call. I knew not to be on my phone while driving, but yet, I still felt sorry. 2 minutes later Jack texted me "Mark , I'm in the Hospital". As soon as I read that text, worry come over my face. I , once tan, now white as an egg shell. I turned right around, not caring what classes I'd miss. I didn't want to see my friend in pain, but I knew I had to be there for jack.

40 minutes later, I arrived. Quickly, I rushed out of my car and into the hospital. I came to front desk,"What room is Sean McCoughlin in? I'm a... uh.... family member. his brother" I said, hoping to be convincing. "Really?" snickered the front desk lady,"Mmmhmm, sure. " She types on her computer, few moments later, she replies with, "His Room is 12-B, 3rd floor, 2 doors down and to your left." "Thank you so Much!" I said with excitement, already running towards the elevator.

I reach the 3rd floor. I follow the lady's instructions and go two doors down then on my left. I see him in his bed, with bunch of wires sticking out of him, through the crack of the door. I open the door and softly knock," Jack? hey, buddy. It's Mark." jack is really stiff, and can barely move. he manages to turn his head towards me. His eyes say I'm fine, but his IV's say I'm not. "Hey Marky-Mark." Jack says, with his voice very soft and raspy. "What happened? Did you get hit? Beat up?" I say, with worry. "Nothing that serious. I just strained my voice by yelling to much at a game, and it was causing me severe pain." "Why are you talking then?" "Cause I can't keep my mouth shut, like always" "True, okay then, I hope you get better, But I really got to get back to campus. See ya Jack!" I say as I'm heading to the door. "No, wait. I need to tell you something" jack says with passion in his voice. "What?" "Mark,.... I...I... I.. nah, nevermind . I'll tell you later. " What jack was going to say leaves me in a state of confusion. Could it be? Nah it couldn't be......... "I love you". Jack's straight as far as I know.
