Triston
I saw Vanessa hit the ground. I turned to see Jay standing in the kitchen doorway holding the gun he shot Vanessa with. I rushed over to her side and held her limped body in my arms. Kathy just stood there with her hands around her mouth.
"The bitch deserve to die." Jay said, bluntly. I clenched my jaw.
"Kathy grab her." I said. She came over and grabbed her body from my arms. I stood up and walked over to Jay.
I knocked the gun out of his hand.
"Hit me!" I yelled. He swung but I ducked. I punched him in his stomach and he hit the ground. I stomped him a few times. I punched him and he stopped moving. I grabbed my cell phone and called the police.
"Hello 911, what's your emergency?" The operator asked.
"Yes, my fiance' has been shot." I said.
"Okay sir, is she still breathing?" She asked. I felt her pulse.
"Yes she is." I said.
"Okay, I'm sending an ambulance." She said.
"Thank you." I said.
"Your welcome and have a blessed night." She said and hung up. I threw the phone on the table. I held a towel to Vanessa's wounded shoulder to add pressure. I prayed as me and Kathy sat there on the bloody floor.
"God, if Vanessa get's through this I will become a better person, do right bye her and Jeremiah and be the man she needs me to be. Please don't take her away from me because I need her. You put us together for a reason. Vanessa is my everything and I love her and plan on to marry her. Thanks. Amen."
ONE WEEK LATER
Vanessa's P.O.V.
I woke and I felt a sharp pain in my shoulder and screamed in pain.
"I see someone's up." Someone said. I looked over to see Triston with Jeremiah in his lap. I smiled. I could see the little bandage around Jeremiah's stomach.
"Mommy!" Jeremiah yelled. I smiled.
"Look at my big boy." I said. He smiled. I saw my grandmother walk in the room.
"Hi grandma." I said.
"How you feeling' sweet-pea?" She asked.
"Getting better." I said.
"Come on Jeremiah lets go get some ice cream." My grandma said. Jeremiah jumped out off Triston's lap.
"Yay!" He said. They walked out. It was silence.
"I'm sorry." Triston said. I looked at him.
"All my life I never thought I would see the day my child gets hurt, I get hurt and you be the one that hurts me. I love you Triston but what you and Kathy did was fucked up. That shit was disrespectful and trifling. But because I don't want to take you out of Jeremiah's life I forgive you." I said.
He smiled and walked over to me. He kissed my forehead.
"I love you to." He said. I laughed. The doctor walked in.
"Hello Vanessa." She said. Triston sat down in a chair.
"Hi, doctor Harris." I said.
"How are you feeling?" She asked.
"Good." I said.
"I have some news for you." She said.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Your..." She hesitated.
"I'm what?" I asked.
"Three weeks pregnant, with twins." She said. I looked at her with "What the fuck are you talking about?" look.
"Huh?" I asked. She laughed.
"Good luck. I will release you in the morning." She said and walked out. I looked at Triston. He looked surprised.
"It looks like our family just got a whole lot bigger." I said.
"Two babies?" He asked, holding two fingers up. I burst out in laughter.
"Yes, two babies." I said.

SIX MONTHS LATER...
"Triston!" I yelled. He came rushing in the room with my ice cream.
"Sorry." He said. I snatched the bowl from his hands and start eating it. My belly is getting bigger and bigger with two babies in it. I sighed and kept eating my ice cream.
Jeremiah came in the room and jumped on my bed.
"What is it honey?" I asked.
"I'm hungry." He said.
"Okay." I said. I sat the bowl down on the night stand and sat up.
"I thought yo' feet was swollen." Triston said.
"I lied." I said. He laughed. I slid my slippers on.
"Come Jeremiah." I said. He jumped off the bed and grabbed my hand. We walked out my room and walked down the hallway,
"Mommy?" Jeremiah called out. We walked in the kitchen and he sat on a bar stool.
"Yes." I said.
"What's in your belly?" He asked.
"Your sister's." I said.
"Girls! Yuck!" He stuck his tongue out.
"This is where you came from." I said.
"No I didn't." He said.
"Okay." I said. I gave Jeremiah his peanut butter and jelly. Triston walked in.
"Mommy I wont one!" Triston joked. I laughed.
"Triston we need to move." I said, rubbing my belly.
"Why?" He said.
"Because with two more babies on the way it wont be no more space." I said.
"I'll think about it." He said. I mushed the back of his head.
"Mommy I just want my sister's for Christmas." Jeremiah said.
"Jeremiah Christmas isn't for the next couple of months." I said.
"So." He said. I laughed and took him off the bar stool. He ran to the play room. I sat on Triston's lap.
"Look at what you did to me." I said. He laughed.
"Me?" He asked.
"Yes you." I said. He kissed me.
"You ready for this family considering all the hell we went through?" He asked.
"More than ready." I kissed him back.
I believe God put me with this man for a reason. I don't know the reason but it sure is doing me justice. After I got shot Triston was there for me. Jay ass got 25 to life. Looks like Jeremiah is going to grow up with out his father but who cares he got Triston.
