Night Cats

Ch. 4 "Cats Night Out"

In the morning, Thomas' paws felt much better, but still not completely healed. He was mostly quiet throughout the day, but there were times when him and Zack would talk about what happened the past night.

"Man, those toms were crazy last night", Zack said in a whisper.
"Yeah, my paws still hurt and I'm kind of worried about Stark", Thomas said peering back at Stark, who was eating his food,
"He took a pretty bad hit to the stomach.
"I wouldn't worry about him", Zack said still whispering,"He has been tough since he was just a newborn".

This made Thomas feel a little better. The rest of the day, Thomas sat around not doing much of anything. His owners walked over to him looking a bit worried. They were talking about taking him to the vet the next morning if he wasn't looking better. This made Thomas scared. He knew that nothing good could come from the vet.

"I better shape up", he thought, "Or I might end up with a needle in my paws... And I definitely don't need that after last night's incident.

Finally, night came around. Thomas wasn't quite sure if he wanted to go out tonight or not. He was about to stay home when Zack tapped him on his shoulder. Thomas almost jumped out of his fur!

"Don't hurt me, I have claws!", Thomas said shaking,"Oh, it's you".
"Sorry dude, didn't mean to scare you", he said feeling badly.
"It's fine. What did you want to tell me?", Thomas said trying not to sound like a wimp.
"Oh yeah! I was wondering if you want to go on a 'Cats Night Out", Zack said with a bright look in his eyes,"You need some fun after yesterday's incident".
"I don't know", Thomas said looking down at his paws.
"C'mon Thomas, it'll be fun! I've already asked Stark and he's coming along", he said wining.
"Stark too?", Thomas said in a mumble, "Alright, I'll come".
"Yes!", Zack said enthusiastically,
"Alright,'Meow' is having a dark moon dance tonight!", he said,
"Let's go".
"Wait, 'Meow'!", Thomas said shocked, "What if those toms are there?"
"Don't worry, they won't come back after their battle with Stark", he said confidently,
"And even if they do come, Stark is coming, so they better be prepared for round two".

Stark stands up behind them and nods his head. Thomas agrees and they head out the cat door, first Thomas, then Stark, and finally Zack. They were walking steadily and made it to "Meow" in about 5 minutes. They walked in and saw a complete change in scenery. All the light were dimmed, all of the games were themed with something spooky, and everyone was wearing masked.

"I guess we're a bit underdressed", Zack said looking around.
"Well, what should we do?", Thomas said nervously.
"Don't worry", Stark said, "I'll go talk to Chris".
Stark walked over to the counter to talk to Chris, but Thomas and Zack were still worried. Chris saw Stark and said,
"Oh, Hey Stark", he said happily,
"Kind of surprised to see you after last night's incident".
"Wait, You know about that?", Stark said shocked.
"Yeah", Chris said calmly, "That Zack sure likes to talk".
"Honestly, I'm not to surprised anymore", he said peering over at Zack.
"So, what would you like?", Chris said.
"Nothing to drink", Stark said,"But if you would happened to have some mask we three could borrow".
"Oh! Sure, a lot of people have forgotten them so I have plenty".
"Sweet! Thanks a lot, Chris",Stark said cheerfully.
"No problem", Chris said,"Just try to stay out of trouble".

Stark walks back to Thomas and Zack holding the masks. Thomas and Zack were fairly surprised. Stark handed them the masks and said,
"Alright guys, let's get dancing!"
"Ready, Thomas?", Zack said looking at him.
"Yeah, my paws are feeling a lot better. Now let's dance!", he said with a sparkle in his eye.
They put on there masks and walked on to the dance floor. Stark was easily the best dancer out of all of them. He could feel the music and moved into every dance move smoothly. Thomas was the second best. Though he could not transition as well as Stark, he knew all the basic and had mastered about all the easier dances. And Zack... Well, let's just say he shows  style in his own way. He might not be the most smooth or a good dancer in general but he always tries his best.
