Nightingale (Haleb)

(couple hours later.)
Hanna-
I get ready for dinner at Caleb's. I put on my white dress with roses, some black leggings and a black leather jacket to hide my cuts. I also put on some sparkly black heels. I put on some makeup. I leave my hair down.

I hear a knock on the door. I go downstairs and open it. "Hey Caleb." I say. "Hi Hanna, you look amazing." He says. "Thanks." I say and look down. "You don't believe me." He says. "What?" I say as I look up. "You do that when you don't believe me." He says. "How did you-" "I pay attention to details Han, like how you care about what my dad thinks of you." He says.

"Caleb, he's your dad. Of course I care about what he thinks. I want to make a good impression on him." She says. "And this hair doesn't make it any easier." I say.

I go over to a mirror and check myself. "Shit, this is not going to go well." I say.

"Let's go babe." He says. "Okay." I say. We walk out and he opens the car door for me. I smile "Thanks." I say. We get in and leave. We drive to his house.

We get out. When we are at the front door, I start to freak out. "Maybe I should just bail. I can't do this anymore." I say. "You can do this baby." He says. "I know you can." He says. He kisses me and we walk in.

We go into the dining room. "Dad, this is Hanna. Hanna this is my dad." Caleb says. His dad looks at me. I feel uncomfortable. "It's nice to meet you sir." I say and I put my hand out. He just ignores it. I pull it back awkwardly.

"Hanna, I'm glad you could make it." Mrs Rivers said. "We are having spaghetti today, is that okay?" She asks. "Yeah, it's fine." I say. She smiles and serves us.

"So, Hanna, is it? Tell me about your family." He says. "Well, I'm an only child, but I have a stepsister, my mom is dead, my dad is remarried and like hours away and... Yeah." I say.

"So you are saying that you live alone?" He asks. "yes sir." I say. "So your just abandoned?" He asks. I looked down. "I guess you could say that." I say. "If they cared about you then why would they leave you?" He asked. "May I be excused?" I ask. "Of course Hanna." Mrs Rivers said. I walk out of the dining area. I am about to walk out of the front door when Caleb comes after me.

"Hanna, I'm sorry about what happened over there." He says. "It's okay Caleb. I promise. Go back and finish dinner with your family. I'll be okay." I say with a small smile. "At least go to my room and wait, please." He says. "Caleb, I'll be at home." I say. "I'll see you soon." He says and kisses me. I walk out of his house and head home. I wipe the tears that start to fall out.

Caleb-
I walk back into the dining room. "Way to go dad." I say. "What did I do Caleb? I just got rid of her for you. You should be thanking me." He says. "For what dad? For chasing away my girlfriend? Really dad?" I say. "Caleb, that girl is bad news. You shouldn't be hanging around her. What do you even know about her?"

"That she's really nice, and sweet, kind, she's also really smart she just doesn't like to show it." I say. "Caleb, I don't want you hanging around her." My dad says. "Well too bad, cause I am. She's my girlfriend dad, and I'm not just going to break up with her because you told me to." I say. "I'm done with dinner. Thank you mom it was delicious, too bad Hanna couldn't enjoy it." I say looking over to my dad.

"I'm going out." I say. "Where do you think your going?" "To see Hanna....And by the way, I made a friend." I say and I leave.

I get in my car and I drive to Hanna's house. I get out and knock on the door. She opens the door. She had been crying. I pull her into a hug. She starts to cry.

I walk inside and close the door. I take us to the living room and sit on the sofa. She sat on my lap and cried into my chest.

"Your dad hates me... He's going to make us break up." She says. "I won't let that happen babe." I say. "I promise you, that I won't let anything break us up." I say. She continues to cry.

She falls asleep some time later. She was still on my lap. I grab the cover that was on the couch and put it over her. I had also fallen asleep a while later.

Sorry I didn't update sooner. My mind was fucked up yesterday because I didn't do my homework and I waited till last minute (literally right before I went to sleep) to do it.

Anyways I am currently working on next chapter. I will update ASAP.
