**Trigger Warning**
Roxas and Axel exited the courtyard and made their way to his car, "You were a badass back there with those bitchy preps." He said, Axel blushed slightly "Thanks. I try my hardest." She responded with a smirk. They entered the car and placed the keys in the car, put the car into drive, and took off. "So where are we headed?" Axel asked in a soft tone as she propped her legs on top of the cars dashboard, "Well.. Where do you wanna go?" Axel slightly turned her head towards him and answered with a sigh. "Anywhere away from this shitty place." She scoffed and chuckled, Roxas shrugged his shoulders and began to drive. A few minutes later, Axel noticed there were more trees on the side of the road, "So...Where are we?" She asked with a curious look, "Oh I thought we could take the scenic route." He said with a small smile. As they drove through the semi thick woods roxas finnaly gained the courage to try and make a move "So where you from?" He asked with a soft smile. She found herself blushing a lot again nobody had ever asked her questions like this, it was sweet honestly for someone of his type to care. "Im from Neoville Kentucky, well at least thats where I was born." she responded. Roxas nodded. He smiled as his cheeks flushed. "So. My question." Axel said with a smile. "What are your interests?" She asked. "Well. I like bands, video games, gory horror shit, anime, standing out, helping people. You know the jist. What about you princess?" He asked with a smirk. Axel nudged him and laughed. "One, dont call me princess. Two, its pretty much the same stuff you like." Roxas smiled and continued driving to many places where they would have the most fun. From the arcade, to the creek, to the mall, to the laying on the ground at the park.
The park was getting dark, and Axel wanted to sit since she was tired. He nodded, looking for a bench without bird shit staining it. Almost all of them had it. Roxas looked down and glanced at Axel every once in a while, he loved seeing her confused faces she made. She was so cute, yet mysterious. He looked down at their hands as he slowly moved them towards hers. Axel bit her lip at the touch of his hand on hers and smiled. She looked up, and gazed into Roxas's eyes. He grabbed both of her hands, circling his thumb on the palm of her hand. He never wanted to let go of them. Roxas leaned in and pressed his soft lips against her cheek repeatedly. Axel smiled and chuckled, kissing his nose with a smile. Roxas pulled her close to him in an embrace and then softly kissed her.
Roxas and Axel fell asleep on the park bench, on top of each other. It was about two in the morning, Axel fluttered her eyes open and looked down at Roxas. She blushed and slightly smiled, knowing it would be the best day of her life. She held his hand tightly and nudged him. "Hey, wake up love." Roxas turned his head in confusion. "Love?" He asked. "Why that choice of words?" Axel closed her eyes and sighed, shaking her head. 'No no no it was a dream?!?' She questioned to herself and looked down at the ground. His eyes widened and frowned. "Were you dreaming? What was your dream about?" He asked in a serious tone. " Axel shook her head and looked at her phone for the time. She would do anything to change the subject right now. "Its 2:55?!?! Fuck im late for curfew!" She yelled and grabbed her bag and facepalmed. "My dad is gonna fucking kill me!" She screamed and began to feel anxious. Roxas looked up at her and hesitated. "Ill take you home!" He yelled and grabbed her hand, running to the car. Roxas didnt have any responsibilities like that since his parents are both dead and his foster parents dont pay any attention to him. He started the car and made their way to her house.
Axel stepped out of the car and thanked Roxas for the ride before running inside, and slowly closing the door. She looked in the living room to see nobody there. She sighed and closed her eyes. 'That was so fucking close.' She thought and as she turned around, the intoxicating smell of whiskey stained her nostrils. "So what have you been doing all this time, Asshole Axel?" Her father asked, a smirk forming where you can barely see his teeth, which some of them were missing in the front, so he had a small country lisp. Figures sinces hes a redneck deadbeat dad. Axel held her breath and bit her lip. "I was out.. with a friend." She whispered. "Just out!?!" He walked closer to Axel and grabbed her by the collar of her flannel. He threw her on the couch, punching her a couple times in the face. Axel threw her hands up to block, but she was to weak for him. Axels father wore these huge rings that looked like a pimp could wear them. Those rings caused so many tears of her skin, gashes, bruises, and scars. It made her miserable. He had the audacity to think everything was Axels fault. Its because he lost his wife the day Axel was born. Before that, Axels mom and dad were rich because her mother was a diagnostitian, and gave the family a lot of money because of that. Her father didnt have a job since she took care of everything. It led to fights all the time. She would always acuse him of using her for the free space and air in the house. She was right, but he didnt want to admit it. She said if you would have a kid with me, and start helping, then she wouldnt kick him out. He did everything she told him to do, grocery runs, to doctors appointments, to helping around the house. As soon as it was time to deliver Axel, She died during childbirth. He was emotionally scarred. He thought the it was all Axels fault. He resented her ever since he had to take her into custody. All the money his wife had-gone, Insurance-gone. Everything he used to scam his wife and to sit around all day while she worked-gone. He took all his pain out on the child, and started to drink. It was miserable in that house. Axels tried running away many times, but he always found her. He leaned into her and whispered in her ear. "Dont fucking do it again, or else your punishment will be worse, and trust me. You dont wanna see what i can do." He threw her on the floor and walked to get another beer. Axel was beyond tired of getting hurt. When he was asleep, which was about 5 in the morning, she packed everything she had and ran out of the house. She had no idea where she would go, she just knew she couldnt stay there. Not anymore. Axel walked around a little bit. Before that, she grabbed bottles of his beer and threw them on the porch, keeping one or two in her duffel bag. She also got some drugs from her friend a while back, but never used them. Today was the day huh. Axel stuffed everything and made her way before her hungover father would wake up.
The next day, Roxas grabbed his cellphone and dialed Axels number, since she wasnt at school, he grew suspicious. It dialed for a minute, straight to voicemail. Later in the school day, Roxas was to report to the principals office. He plopped down on one of the chairs and looked up at the dean. "Look, if its that one kid saying I punched him, hes a big fat liar." The dean shook her head. "You were the last to see Axel Fuentes. Shes disappeared and her fathers worried. Roxas shook his head. "But I dropped her off at home. She couldnt be missing!" His eyes widened and looked down at the ground. The dead walked towards him and patted his back. "No reason to get all sad, we just have some questions to ask before we get our answers." Roxas nodded, answering anything possible. He was in tears about it. "Who reported her missing?" He asked just as he was about to walk out of the deans office. The dean walked towards him to open the door. "Its confidential, and I only know what the police have told me, and thats everything ive asked you." She shut the door as Roxas stared at the door. He let out a sigh and looked at his phone. No sign of contact between them. Roxas knew he couldnt just wait for her to die. He ran out of the school and into his car, going to the first place he thought, the places they went yesterday.
Axel laid motionless on the ground, outcold and tired of feeling. She had drank herself to sleep, smoked, and broke down. She laid in a forest type place. Trees and a cliff filled with water. Axel was laying on the ledge. She was just so miserable about the pain she had to go through. She began to think that it was her fault. Her fault she got her father to drink and abuse, her fault her mother died. She wasnt the perfect daughter in her mind. She grabbed her phone and bit her lip, seeing all the notifications Roxas sent. 'Are you okay? Where are you? Im looking for you, im worried. You were reported missing.' Axel had tears streaming down her cheek as she threw her phone in the creek, hearing a small splash. Her phone was on dial when she threw it, calling Roxas. She just shook her head and buried her face in her hands, sobbing.
Roxas drove everywhere but the creek. The arcade, the cafe, the mall, the park. He was almost out of options. He couldnt help but think it was her fathers fault, as well as his own. He punched the cars steering wheel repeatedly before his phone began to ring. He thought it would be the school asking why hes had such a long lunch break. He grabbed his phone and stared at the contact for a minute. "Is this real?" He asked, seeing Axels name on top. He answered quickly, getting static in his eardrums. He groaned as his eyes widened. "I can trace the call to find her!" He said with a smile. He traced it on his phone to see she was at the creek. The phone said in the water of the creek on the map he had. He covered his mouth and drove as quickly as possible. "Theres no way youre dying on my watch!" He yelled.
Roxas made his way into the forest, yelling Axels name repeatedly. 'Please be here. Dont be dead.' He thought to himself as he continued yelling. He was in tears already, he didnt want his friend to be gone. He noticed a dark red figure laying on the ground and dashed towards her. "Axel!" He yelled and choked on his tears. He fell to his knees to see her with bruises and wounds everywhere, a black eye. "Oh no. No no no no!" He picked her up and cried, leaning his head on her head. "Please wake up!" He yelled. No response from Axel, though she was breathing. Her chest was moving up and down. Roxas was relieved, and hugged her tightly. "Im never letting you out of my sight!" He yelled. Axel fluttered her eyes open from him hugging her. "R-Roxas... Im a fucking idiot. Im sorry." She whispered, softly hugging back.
"You're my idiot."
