Innocence

A clenched jaw, a closed fist

Always a stained white shirt

His hand surrounding my wrist,

And pulling down my skirt.

*

I didn't even try to fight

But a lack of no does not equal a yes.

He was already holding too tight,

And on my back I felt his chest.

*

Whispering on my ear,

As my innocence fades away.

Closing eyes not to fear,

But it's in vane

My attempt to disappear.

*

He wasn't a stranger

I thought of him as a friend,

But then he filled with anger

When I started to bleed at the end.

*

"It's time for you to go"

The last words I heard of him.

A hundred times I said "no"

A poker face I've never seen.

*

Then he kissed me as last good-bye,

I tried to avoid the kiss,

But his lips stamped to mine.

And I swore to myself to never do this,

To fake a smile and say I'm fine.

*

But a lesson is now supreme

That you should always listen to

Is that if you don't scream,

No one will ever listen to you.
