Babi Cross had never believed in love.

'Love was something that people made up in movies and books, to make things interesting' she always said.

Thanks to her mother, who had no idea what a good man even looked like, Babi grew up believing that all men were heartless, selfish, and cruel.

Max was the father of Tempest, Babi's one true friend, who was always there when one of her mothers boyfriend's took their punishments too far.
