I watched intently, as Rayne stared at the vast expanse of trees, through the mercy bus window. She had one earphone in, and a book on her lap. I wondered what she may be reading, but I was too far away to see the title.
I wondered a lot about Rayne.
I wondered what her favourite song was, what her favourite book was, why she never seemed to have any friends, and why she was always smiling. But most of all, I wondered what she was thinking. Was she thinking about something as simple as what she'd be having for dinner that night? Was she analysing the lyrics to the song she was listening to? Or was she maybe wondering what I was thinking? Probably not.
That's the one thing I knew about Rayne Carter; -aside from her name- she'd never care to wonder what I was thinking. Sounds incredibly soppy, I know - but it was true.
Rayne Carter would never so much as steal a glance at me.

Prologue of Hello Brooklyn ayyyee. (Yes I did name it after atl's song aha.) I'm really excited for this book. I did write a book called The Wait, and I used the character Rayne in that book, but I just wasn't loving the storyline, so I thought I'd write a new book, with the same character, a different title, and a similar storyline I guess aha.
I'm pretty lazy, but I'll try and upload twice a week (if possible) but if I can't, I'll upload once a week (most likely a Thursday.)
You can follow my instagrams @/mukeskittenparade and @/mukesphandom
