Harry: Hey! Are you busy today? I was hoping we could hang out... x
I had been staring at the text for nearly twenty minutes now, it probably being a good thing that my read receipts weren't on. My fingers hovered over the screen, contemplating my decision. I did want to see him of course, but I was scared considering everything that happened between us. I finally started typing, holding my breath as I pressed send.
Zoe: Nope, not busy! Meet at the cafe at 12?
Harry replied within seconds, agreeing to meeting. I looked at the time, seeing I had about an hour until I had to be there. I decided to take a quick shower, hastily shaving my legs. Once I got out, I brushed through my hair, deciding against drying it for timing purposes. My hair never wanted to dry, which could be quite annoying. I decided to put it in a messy bun, only putting on mascara. I walked to my closet, putting on my undergarments then pondering on what to wear. I decided on a pair of darkwash jeans and one of Harry's sweatshirts that I had taken with me when I left. I pulled my Vans onto my feet, then grabbed my purse and phone. I then left, locking the door behind me.
I started walking towards my old workplace, which was about fifteen minutes from my new apartment. I was surprised that Harry had never found me, considering I didn't move that far away. I finally reached the building, checking the time and seeing it was 11:49, so I was early. I walked in, being greeted by Tamara.
"Oh my gosh, Zoe! You're alive," She teased, walking around the counter and pulling me into a hug.
"I am," I laughed, pulling away so she could go back to her job.
"So have you talked to Harry?" She asked, pulling out a cup and making the beverage she knew I would order; a french vanilla latte.
"Actually," I started to speak, then the chimes from the door sounded. I turned to see Harry, a smile forming on both my face and his. He took long strides towards me, engulfing me in a tight hug although we last saw each other two days ago. He placed a gentle kiss on my forehead, causing my stomach to twist into little miniature knots.
"Oh my God!! Yes, finally!" Tamara cheered, causing both of us to laugh. I buried my face into his chest, embarrased.
"I know, right?" Harry chuckled, rubbing my back.
"Alright, a french vanilla latte and a black coffee." Tamara grinned, setting both of our drinks on the counter.
"You've got it quite memorized," I laughed, finally turning to face my friend.
"You're my favorite customers," She grinned. Harry reached into his pocket, pulling out his wallet.
"Wait, no, I've got this," I shoved his wallet out of his hand, where it fell onto the floor. He raised his eyebrow at me, bending over to pick it up, so I kicked it.
"The hell, Zoe," He mumbled, walking to get it back. I opened my purse, reaching in and pulling out some money. I tried to hand it to Tamara, but then Harry slapped my hand, causing the money to fall onto the ground.
"Fuck, y'all are so cute," Tamara laughed hardly, her eyes watering. "This is on me, I just ship it so much, oh my God," She shook her head, walking into the back room to calm down. Harry and I both shrugged at eachother, putting our money away and grabbing the coffees.
"So, do we stay here or go somewhere else?" I asked, taking a sip of the coffee, nearly burning my tongue.
"Erm, I dunno. I wanted to talk... and stuff." I raised my eyebrow, nearly choking on my drink.
"I, uh, well... we can go to my apartment? Or yours, whichever is fine," We both started walking towards the door so we weren't awkwardly standing in front of the counter. He opened the door for me, mumbling a 'ladies first' then followed behind me.
