The ride was quiet. It had been for several hours.

After Delirious had calmed himself, he had kicked the car into drive and thats what they had been doing; driving. "So where are we going?"

Evan sounded groggy, as if he had just woken up. He had, mentally. He'd been lost in his own world, thinking about things that made him happy or troubled, whatever that came to his head just to keep his mind off of the man next to him.

"North Carolina," came the reply, quiet and seemingly distant. "Why am I not surprised?"

He heard a chuckle beside him, and he couldn't help but smile. "Luke is there, has some cabins we can use in his backyard."

Evan nodded,"How long of a drive will it be?"

He saw Delirious glance at him from the corner of his eye,"Several days, maybe three if we're lucky." He let his head rest on the window,"Seems fair." It did, seeing as how Delirious would be taking the backroads through the smaller towns instead of the highway, where police could easily identify their car. They had to remember that they were wanted still, no matter that they were leaving the gang.

There was a small silence. "Are you cold?"

Evan looked up, and saw that they were at a red light and felt Delirious' eyes on him. He realized he had been slightly shivering, and he blamed it on the air blowing on him. "Uhh, a little. Nothing severe though," he chuckled,"You don't have to turn off the air conditioner."

"Oh, well..." The aura of the car seemed awkward, but maybe it was just Evan. "You can grab a jacket from the back."

Evan glanced backwards, and he saw the small pile of clothes just behind him. "You brought an extra?"

He saw the other man shake his head,"Nah, I forgot which one I grabbed, but you can use it for now."

"Mm," Evan replied, twisting in his seat. Delirious wouldn't need a jacket at the moment, he had on a flannel, whereas Evan only sported a black tanktop.

Evan started to crawl over the car's console, but he felt the car lurch just as he was halfway over it. His grip on the leather left him and he felt himself slipping, aimed toward the floor of the backseat. Before he could fall, he felt a hand on his backside, grabbing the hem of his shirt and yanking him back. "Sorry, be careful. Idiot fauxed a green light."

Evan sighed and nodded a thanks of gratitude,"Okay." He smiled back at Delirious, and he got a cheeky grin.

Crawling into the back, he avoided stepping on a small handgun that was taped to the floor. He sat on the opposite side of the clothes and filtered through before his hands stopped on a certain piece of cloth. He smiled lightly before sliding it on and zipping it up. He crawled back over, alot more wearily than before, and settled back into his seat. "Did you find one?"

Evan nodded,"It's nice." Delirious glanced at him, and a teasing grin appeared,"It better fucking be, thats my favorite."

"It better fucking be," Evan laughed,"I gave it to you." Delirious shrugged,"Well, yeah, but still, I've managed not to get blood on it, so please try to restrain from any injury that would include you getting any bodily fluids on it." Evan rolled his eyes,"I promise."

"Good.

Evan couldn't help the small smile that was left on his face. This was why he loved to talk to Jon, one minute they could be talking about death and destruction before the subject suddenly changed to some hilarious randomness that always gets them laughing at eachother. He leaned his head against the window again, and he felt the feeling of the road under the car reverberate in his skull. Evan yawned and tugged the sleeves of his, err, Delirious' jacket over his hands before sliding his feet under him and leaning all his weight onto the door. "Hey, wait a minute, Evan."
