I awake to Raylee shaking me telling me that we are here I sit up and look out the window we are pulling up to a big old looking house how many people can stay here I ask 14 my mom says I know it doesnt look like much but it is booked every week she says my dad stops the car and we get out and grab our three suitcases and walk to the front door my dad knocks and steps back I hear footsteps and soon my aunt opens the door it's so good to see you all she says as she lets us in she starts talking to our parents as I look around we are in an entryway on the right is a big entryway leading to the living room on the left is a swinging door leading to the kitchen and there are winding stairs leading up and a check in counter this is going to be a great summer Raylee whispers to me as she walks past me and follows our parents and Aunt Tessa upstairs we share a room it has two single beds a big dresser a body mirror a desk a window with a window seat and a comfy looking chair it's not much my Aunt says it's great Raylee assures her with a smile. Soon we are back downstairs saying goodbye to our parents my mom reaches out to give me a hug but I step back, she sighs and gives me a quick kiss before they both leave I go to the window and watch them leave.

Soon the guests start showing up for dinner, the cook and housekeeper Mary, her husband John who fixes things that aren't working and gardens come in Mary sets out pots and pans with food in it the guests take a seat and start stuffing themselves, me and Raylee are soon introduced to everyone there are five bikers, five tourists, and two old ladies, the meal is great and after, me and Raylee help with the dishes I soon find out Mary has lived in North Carolina her whole life and met her husband when she was working as a librarian, all of a sudden out of nowhere don't go outside when it's past ten she says, why I ask wondering why can't we go out past 10, because you don't need to know she says and with that the conversation was over. Me and Raylee head upstairs and get ready for bed that was really weird and creepy Raylee says, yeah I agree I wonder why we can't go out past ten I shut off the lights and soon fall asleep. I awake to a noise it sounds like someone is scratching the door, it changes to thumping on the wall I pull my blanket over my head and soon fall back asleep.
