The next morning as I quickly get ready and run downstairs to eat breakfast, there are a few guests still eating but the bikers and some of the tourists are gone, I sit down by Raylee and help myself to some pancakes as I'm pouring the syrup I whisper to her did you hear the noises last night I ask, she looks at me yeah and I couldn't sleep thank you very much it's not funny you know how scared I get she says, what it wasn't me I say I thought it was you, she looks at me and notices I'm telling the truth no it wasn't me I was in bed all night her eyes fill with terrify if it wasn't you or me who was it she asks we look at Mary and notice she is staring at us her eyes narrow and she looks away, creepy I mumble and turn back around.
The rest of the afternoon me and Raylee explore outside we are walking through the woods when Raylee calls my name I walk over to her what I say she points and I notice a lump in the ground with a piece of wood sticking up marking it go get me a shovel from the shed I say, why can't you she whines, just go get one I say giving her a stern look she turns and walks away, she returns with a shovel what are you going to do she says, dig it up I answer, but would if it's a dead body she asks her eyes widening, yeah someone got murdered and put in a hole where everyone can see I respond sarcastically rolling my eyes, I start digging when I hit something I drop the shovel and wipe the dirt away with my hands a wooden box comes to view I pull it out and open it Raylee bends down besides me inside is a doll that is missing an eye and is dirty I put the doll on the ground and look back inside the box that is it I say, that's stupid Raylee says why would someone bury a doll she picks it up and wipes some of the dirt away we get up I get the shovel and box while Raylee has the doll we walk back to the house I put the shovel back in the shed we run up the steps to the door I leave the box outside not wanting to get dirt everywhere. We go straight to the kitchen where Mary is, why was this buried Raylee asks, Mary turns around her face going pale at the sight of the doll, she grabs it from Raylee where did you get this she shrieks her eyes filled with anger and terrify we step back we found it buried in the woods I say scared at her outburst, why did you dig it up she asks, we wanted to know what it was Raylee says, Mary puts her hands on the counter to balance herself, you shouldn't have done that she says shaking her head you really shouldn't have, why I demand it's just a stupid doll, oh no oh no she murmurs, look we'll put it back and bury it again I offer, no there's nothing you can do anymore she says turning around, what's going to happen Raylee asks her voice shaking, you'll find out soon Mary says, with that me and Raylee leave with the doll we go upstairs and I throw the doll on the dresser jumping on my bed, I'm scared Raylee says I knew we shouldn't have dug it up now something bad is going to happen, no nothing bad is going to happen I say she was just trying to scare us I assure her but feeling doubt myself.
The rest of the day me and Raylee stay inside away from any trouble we explore the library, the storage room, and the attic. Soon it is time for dinner we head to the dining room and take a seat the guests start arriving and sit down to a great barbecue meal conversations start about what they did and where they went but me and Raylee stay quiet waiting for something bad to happen even though I tried to assure her and myself that nothing was going to happen, out of the corner of my eye I see Mary and John eyeing me and Raylee, I gently nudge her to make her notice and when she does Mary mouths just wait, I feel my hair stand on end I shiver and look away, immediately after dinner me and Raylee race upstairs to our room where I slam the door shut and lock it I turn around and see Raylee staring at her journal on the ground her face pale and eyes terrified I go over and pick it up hello I'm Helen I read Raylee if you did this it isn't funny I say sternly to her, I didn't I was with you all day she says her voice trembling, I can tell she's telling the truth I rip out the page and throw it away, someone's playing a prank on us I say, no Bella she says just stop we both no that no one is pranking us this is real and you no it we need to find out more she says sternly, fine I sigh we'll go to the library tomorrow when Aunt Tessa is going grocery shopping I say. We get ready for bed, I shut off the lights and climb into bed, I drift to sleep. I awake to thumping and a little girl crying I sit up and see a small shadow the shape of a little girl curled up in a ball in the corner crying, I grab my ear buds off my night stand put.them into my ears and turn on my music I fall back asleep.
