"Harry, just give me my book back."

"I'm not hearing any manners." Edward stops reaching for the book with a sigh.

"Really?" He crosses his arms with a huff and rolls his eyes.

"Not hearing any."

"Could you please give me back my book?"

"Only because you asked nicely." Edward happily holds his hand out hoping that Harry sets the book back in his hand but he just tosses it on the floor and continues to look around through Edward's stuff.

"Thanks." Edward sighs and picks the book up. As Harry picks up some of his things and scoffs, Edward sets the book back on the shelf and smacks Harry's hand away.

"How can you read that stuff?"

"I happen to really enjoy mystery novels, Harold."

"Whatever." Harry rolls his eyes.

"Why are you even in here?" He shrugs then turns back around.

"I don't know. I'm bored."

"Why don't you call Louis and hang out with him?" Harry pouts and hangs in head down.

"He has practice."

"Well, I'm not here to entertain you." The two remain silent while Edward tries to straighten up the mess Harry is beginning to make. Edward's phone starts ringing on his night stand causing him and Harry to race towards it.

"I'll get it!" Edward and Harry wrestle over the phone as it continues to ring.

"No, Harry! Give me my phone!"

"I said I've got it

I yank the phone out of his hand and quickly answer it.

"Hello?"

"Edward?" I immediately recognize his voice and feel my cheeks heating up.

"Hi, Zayn."

"Hey, you wanna hang out? Maybe go out for a milkshake?"

"Sure."

"Great. I'll be there in a bit."

"Super." I set my phone back on my dresser then look back at Harry.

"Hi, Zayn." Harry mimics, causing me to bite my lip and turn away.

"So, you and Zayn are going out? For milkshakes? Oh, how girly." I roll my eyes with a groan.

"We went over this. He's my best friend, nothing more."

"Yeah, for now."

"Whatever." I look out the window to try and find a distraction.

"Hey, is that Louis' car in the driveway?" I gasp and point towards the window. Harry jumps up with a squeal then races out of my room, leaving me in peace. I grab my wallet and phone then make my way downstairs.

"Mum, I'm going out with Zayn for a bit."

"Okay but could you, maybe, put on your jacket please?"

"Why? It's warm out today." She walks up to me and grabs my hands.

"No, not this again."

"Why did you have to cover both arms with this punk stuff?"

"It's not punk stuff. I told you that it tells things that I can't put into words.

"I know but the piercings an-" I pull my hands away and frown at her.

"I thought you understood."

"Honey, I do bu-" I shake my head and open the door.

"I'll be back before sundown."  I close the door behind me then slip on my jacket.

"Hey, Edward." I look up from the ground and spot Marcel.

"Oh, hi." He closes his textbook then walks over to me.

"Everything alright?" I sigh and nod.

"Everything's fine."

"Edward, I've known you since we were in the womb. I know you're lying."

"I'm not! Everything is fine." He looks at me then puts his hand on his hip. I remain silent until he clicks his tongue and shrugs.

"Fine. I'll leave you alone." He gathers his stuff and as soon as he walks into the house, Zayn pulls up. I walk up to the car and get in.

"Hey."

"Hi." I smile at him and play with the sleeves of my jacket.

"What's with the jacket? it's warm today."

"I thought it might be cold at the diner."

"How come I'm having a hard time believing you?"

"What? It's true."

"Bullshit."

"That's my story and I am sticking with it."

"Whatever you say."
