After Harry walked in, he saw his mother sitting at the kitchen table.
"Where's Mark?" he asked
"He's at work." Harry was shocked because Mark never went into work unless it was an emergency. He usually just worked from his room. And after these emergencies he was normally in an even worse mood than normal. Anne looked up from her phone and glared at Harry. "Why do you want to know?"
"I was j-just curious." Harry answered as he moved towards his room. His mum appeared to be in a bad mood and didn't want to upset her any more so he decided to just do his homework now so that he didn't have to worry about doing it later.
After his two hours of homework was complete he needed a drink and went out to the kitchen. Big mistake.
"Why the hell were you late to fifth hour today?"
"I h-had to use the r-restroom and there were a lot of people in there. I'm s-sorry it won't happen again," Before Harry could finish apologizing a fist landed on his back, once again reopening his cut. This time Harry could not with hold his pain and screamed out. Mark punched him again and Harry was sobbing at this point. Mark didn't care and just continued to punch him over and over.
With a straight face, Anne came out of the kitchen and said," Mark that's enough."
Mark got one more hit in, and then stopped hitting Harry. Mark scoured into his bedroom while Anne went back into the kitchen.
Harry laid on the floor for a while before his pain had subsided enough for him to get into his bedroom.
The back of his light blue shirt was stained with blood, and he still didn't have any band aids.
At this point Harry didn't know what else to do so he just grabbed his wallet, his phone, put on a new shirt and rushed out the front door before anybody could see him leaving.
He figured he would just walk to the convenience store to get some band aids and gauze but he didn't know what he was going to do after that. He didn't want to know what would happen to him if he showed back up at home after leaving.
After the ten minute walk to the store he opened the door to go inside, but it wouldn't open.
At this point he was frustrated and in pain, so he fell to the ground crying.
"Harry?" he heard a familiar voice call out.
He opened his eyes and saw that it was Louis.
"Oh Harry it's okay don't cry."Louis soothed as he picked Harry's head up off the ground.
"Why are you here? And why are you bleeding? What happened?" Louis asked thoroughly concerned.
Harry just sobbed more and Louis decided it would be best to put him in his car and take him to his house and then find out what happened.
As soon as Harry was seated in the front seat of the car he stopped sobbing, but still had tears rolling down his face. Louis didn't know what else to do so he just kept repeating, "Harry it's okay,it's okay now, you're okay now."
After Louis pulled into his driveway he went around to the other side and lifted Harry up and out of the car. By the time Louis had gotten him onto his bed, Harry had stopped crying but was shaking violently.
After he had set Harry on his bed he realized he should probably try to find out where the blood was coming from.
He decided to take off Harry's shirt to see if it was coming from his back because that's where most of the blood seemed to be. Louis gently started to remove the shirt but before it got halfway up his back, Harry pushed his hand off him and pulled it back down.
"Don't take my shirt off" Harry whimpered.
"I need to see why you're bleeding, bud." Harry just shook his head and Louis added, "I'm not going to judge you, whatever it is."
"You have to promise that you won't tell anybody."
Louis hesitated but said, "Okay I promise." He didn't want to make the promise, but knew it was the only way that he was going to be able to help Harry. He decided that if he needed to break the promise, Harry would realize that he did it for his own good.
Harry gave up the fight and let go of the hem of his shirt. Louis pulled the shirt up to Harry's armpits and then picked his head up off the bed to pull the rest of the shirt off. He was extra careful not to hurt him.
Louis' eyes bulged out when he saw the state of Harry's back. There were bruises all over, some looked old while others looked like they had just been formed. There was also a cut about six inches long that looked like it had just stopped bleeding. He didn't say anything, not wanting to make it seem like he was shocked or appalled by Harry's back.
Louis went into the bathroom that was next to his room and picked up a towel. He figured he would start with cleaning off the cut. He wet the towel and went back into his room. Before he put the towel on Harry's back he warned, "I'm gonna clean your cut up, alright? It's gonna be cold." Harry didn't move or make any indication that he had heard him so he pressed the towel gently to the cut. Harry hissed in pain and Louis felt bad but knew he needed to get it clean. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry." He mumbled.
After he thought the cut was clean enough he set the towel down on the bed and said, "I'm going to go find something to cover it up with. Will you be okay here by yourself?"
Harry weakly nodded and Louis wearily left his room. After finding a roll of gauze and some large bandages, he went back to his room.
Harry had a few silent tears rolling down his face when Louis got back into his room, and it broke his heart. Who was heartless enough to hurt Harry?
He unwrapped the gauze and tried to pull Harry up into a seated position, but he was dead weight in his arms and he could not hold him up to wrap the gauze around his torso. "Harry, you need to sit up please. I need to finish bandaging you up." He listened to Louis and held himself up.
Louis wrapped the gauze and put the bandages on. He was no doctor and it wasn't very pretty, but it would do the job. Louis grabbed a shirt from his closet that looked big enough to fit Harry and pulled it over his head and though his arms.
"Harry can you talk to me now?" Louis asked quietly.
