Okay, so I kinda re-did the story to make it a lot better and give you a background story. I am also building character relationships and making it more detailed. Hope you like what I did!

"Kids! Get down here! We have something to tell you!" My mom yelled from the living room in our little two story apartment. Our Grandfather had just passed away, so I guessed that she was going to tell us about his funeral. He was alright, he was a fisherman, and he was very conceded, I didn't like him all that much, but he was alright.

"Coming!" I said as I walked into the room. I looked at my mom, she was pretty, she has short, brown hair, green eyes filled with a deep pain from her troubled past. She has curves and bold shoulders and she was smiling at me. "What's going on?" I asked.

"Wait for your brother," My dad said. I studied him, his green eyes, short, black hair that side swept across his face, he has a chubby face, but he's muscley. I hadn't really paid that close attention to their features before, I only paid attention to my brother's... I was always trying to figure out why all the girls practically threw themselves at him.

"I'm here!" My brother, Alex, said... Speaking of the devil. He has green eyes, everyone in this family does, except me, of course. He has short, brown hair and he was thin, but strong. He is really protective and I guess he is attractive, but he's not sexy... Oh God no.

"So, what do you want to talk about?" I asked, genuinely curious.

"We're moving into a new house!" My mom squealed like a little school girl, but in all fairness, so did I... I had been getting bullied lately.

"OH MY GOD YAAAAAAAAAAY!" I screamed.

"That's awesome!" My brother said, smiling.

"Well, how long do we have until we have to get out... And where is the house?" I asked.

"Two weeks, and your Grandfather's house," My mom said, she looked down at the last part.

"TWO WEEKS?!" I screamed with joy. "He left us the house? Are we changing schools? Why his house? Isn't it going to be creepy?"

"He was your Grandfather," My dad said, a look of Respect him, or else on his face. My mom broke the silence.

"Yes, he left us the home, and no it's not creepy. His house is a lot bigger than ours, and you're already enrolled in a new school."

"....What?" Alex asked, his face getting red.

"Well... Halley is getting bullied," My mother said in a soft voice.

"AND THAT'S MY FAULT WHY?" My brother yelled.

"We never said it was your fault, honey.." My mother pleaded.

"YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO! I SHOULDN'T BE PUNISHED FOR HER DEFORMITY," He screamed and I winced at the last part.

"I'm sorry my existence is a punishment!" I said as I ran to my room and slammed the door, locking it.

I looked at the mirror, I have shoulder length, brown hair, piercing blue eyes, I'm thin, and I think I'm pretty... Then I saw it, the deformity Alex was talking about... The scar that went from the far corner of my right eye, to the right side of my chin. It happened months ago while it was still summer, I shivered when I touched the scar.

After I decided what I was going to wear the next day, I also decided that I should get some sleep. I took off my top and replaced it with a camisole, then I took off my jeans and slipped on shorts. After I was fully dressed in my pajama best, I pulled the covers over, slid in, and covered back up, slowly slipping into a dream.

I was running in the woods, exploring with my brother. I could smell the fresh air of summer, it had just rained so the river was rushing and everything was slippery, that made it fun. "Look over there!" I yelled to Alex, pointing at a fox den, that was big enough for an adult to easily walk in, on the other side of the river. I looked to the left, there was an old stone wall, maybe a foot thick, that went to the other side of the river. It had holes in it, and it was covered in moss... Wet moss.

"Don't go over there!" Alex commanded, I waved a hand at him.

"It'll be fun," I assured him as I picked my way carefully, walking across the wall. I slipped on a piece of moss and let out a squeak as I flung my arms out to balance myself.

"HALLEY!" He yelled. "HALLEY PLEASE!"

"I'm fine!" I said, waving. "Don't worry!" I kept walking until I reached the other side of the river. I turned to the right and started walking towards the fox den. I heard Alex calling my name, but I didn't care, I touched the side to the entrance. It was damp and it smelled of decaying flesh. I shivered when I saw a few bones, but I guessed they were just animal bones. I took a few steps inside, it was dark and I took out my phone and used the flashlight app and took a look around. I heard something and prayed to God it wasn't the fox. I moved my hand over to the right and saw a black figure towards the back of the den move away from the light, hissing. I moved the light around frantically trying to find it again when I dropped my phone and cussed out loud because the flashlight turned off, and everything went black. I dropped to my knees and tried to find it when something grabbed my shoulders and stood me up, I couldn't see what it was, which scared me more. It had my phone and it slipped it in my back pocket, then it whispered.

"Run."

It let go of me, scratching my face as I bolted out of there, I wasn't paying any attention to where I was or the pain on my face, I was so scared that I didn't see where I was going... but I should've... I ran right over the cliff and into the river. Right before I hit the water I heard my brother screaming. My heart was racing and I wasn't thinking straight. I felt something trying to grab my feet and I kicked at it in a blind rage. That didn't seem to detour it because it dragged me down, I flailed my arms and tried to swim back up, but it just kept pulling me down... down to the bottom of the river. Alex must have seen me, because he dove in and pulled me up... I punched him in the face because I thought he was the thing.

After he pulled me out, he held me in his arms really tight, kinda like he was making sure I was actually there. It had been a while of him holding me when he pushed me away to look at me, and when he did, he gasped. "Your face..." He said softly, touching my scratch.

"Ouch," I said, wincing. "Is it bad?"

"It's bleeding a lot..." He looked away, his eyes watering. "I was scared I was going to lose you."

"Aweh. I'm sorry for scaring you. I was just... scared... I wasn't watching where I was going."

"I know, I know." He said soothingly. "I told you not to go in there."

"I know, but it was so interesting." I said. Looking back... It was just a mistake. I looked back at the river and froze when I saw the figure rushing away. It looked at me and mouthed: Soon.
