Trustworthy- Chapter 10
“Gahh, that party was hardcore!” I shouted as I leaned into Niall to keep my balance. We had all decided that someone needed to stay sober and Niall had volunteered, surprisingly. “Babe, I think I should drive you back home, your mother is expecting you.” Niall tried whispering but it came off as yelling in my ears.
“Ni, I don’t want to go home. I don’t want my mom to see me this messed up. Can you text her for me?” I never actually heard Niall’s response but the next thing I knew, I was in Niall’s car alone. A few seconds later Niall showed up on the driver’s side and quickly took ahold of my right hand.
From what I could remember of the day, Niall had hardly not been touching me. He always had at least one hand on me at all times. He wanted me to trust him and as much as I hated to admit it, I was letting my guard down, especially since I got drunk with no care in the world.
I hardly knew these boys and I had been drunk in their presence twice. I was not making a very good first impression. I needed to change my outlook on this little trip before my mother finds out and sends me back to my aunts to stay for the rest of the summer. I didn’t need to have to deal with my aunt wanting mine and my mother’s money. She had no rights to any of our money and it will be staying like that for a really long time.
"Ni, where are we going? I'm so dizzy." I whined at Niall. He hadn't been answering any of my questions all night. It was making my head hurt and every time Niall took a corner; my head started spinning all over again.
“Okay babe, you’re home now.” Niall said finally, in the quietest voice he could possibly muster. “WHAT?” I yelled causing my head to once again start spinning. “I asked you not to bring me home yet!” This act of Niall’s just proved how right I was to think that I needed to keep my guard up.
All celebrities seemed to act exactly the same. None of them had any respect for what I asked of them. After all I’m not actually famous for anything, so God forbid I be treated with the least amount of respect possible. Sure I might have been overreacting just a little bit, but I had asked Niall not to bring me home, just for at least an hour so I could sober up a little bit.
Just when I was starting to think these boys were different, Niall had to go and change my perspective on them. I wanted them so much to be different from every other celebrity I had met. I wanted them to be those boys from the video diaries, but it was just a fool’s mistake to want that. I was just way too gullible, especially being in the state of mind that I have been in lately.
“Car, I’m sorry, but I panicked. I didn’t know what to do. You did ask for me not to bring you home, but I had to. Kirsten is already here, I’ll have her come get you.” Niall oh so carefully relayed to me. Trying not to hurt my feelings and end up turning our conversation into a big deal. Niall just didn’t understand the half of it.
“Car….” Niall attempted, but I cut him off. “Niall, DO NOT CALL ME CAR, my name has been and always will be Carlee.” I promptly stated to Niall. He still didn’t seem to get that I did not want to talk to him. He had no business disobeying the only thing I had asked him to do for me.
“Carlee, please just text Kirsten or give me your phone so I can text her. I drove all the way over here and I would like to think that it was for a reason.” Niall tried again. “Niall, why would I want to text Kirsten when I asked you to not even bring me home in the first place?” Niall just went too far. If he wanted to text Kirsten then he could go for it, from his phone. So I told him just that.
I didn’t actually expect Niall’s next move. Instead of getting his phone out he got out of the car, opened the passenger side door, picked me up, and then brought me to the front door of the complex building, went to the elevators and brought me to my flat.
“Hey Kirsten, she’s just a tad bit tipsy, didn’t wanna come home either.” Niall said to Kirsten when she opened the door to the flat. I was so done with all guys. They never do anything you ask of them.
Niall walked in and brought me to my room. The next instant I overheard Kirsten and Niall talking as they thought I would sleep right away once my head hit the pillow.
“Niall, she won’t want to see you when she’s sober and awake. She tends to remember everything from when she’s drunk. That was Kirsten, always saying too much. “You’re right I should probably get going. She’s not going to be too happy with me when she really knows she’s home and I didn’t listen to her.” Niall.
That was the last of the conversation I heard before I fell into a sleep, that I hoped I wouldn’t sleep the day away. My mom still wanted to celebrate my birthday with me. That thought of my mother reminded me, where was she?
Mady had always been very demanding about how much I drank and very stingy about when and what time I came home drunk. What time was it, even? I didn’t even know that little bit of information. I needed to just fall into this lovely daze, forcefully.
I knew once I woke up that at first I wouldn’t want to see Niall, but later in the day I would be apologizing. Plus I needed Kirsten and the boys’ help to track down my dad. It was about time I told them the real reason I wanted to explore England. I had loads of information to go through and even more traveling that needed to be done. My father had to still be out there.
The thing I needed to know most? Why did he take off when my mom found out she was pregnant. Yes, it is true that he was married, but he could have at least stayed in my life. Did him leaving have more to do with my mom than I thought?
