Jack feels guilty. He goes out of the room and comes down to check on Lei, and to say sorry.
He sees her in the kitchen . . .
"It's now or never Jack. You should tell her already."
He walks towards her and . . .
"Ummm, Lei?" He started. This made the girl turn around to face him.
"Yes? What is it Jack?"
"Okay. Here goes..."
"Lei, I'm sorry about lately." He said, looking at her apologetically.
"Sorry? There's nothing to be sorry about. You didn't do anything wrong, Jack."
"Yes there is. I lied... I was blushing because... I-I like you. No wait, scratch that one. I know that it's already love. I love you Lei." He confessed.
"You love me. Wait, what?!" She said with a hint of shock.
"But we barely know each other Jack. Personally, that is."
"I already know you. I've been watching you almost all the time. Even though I wasn't able to interact to you before. And this is the reason that I was saying why the time wasn't right for me to show myself to you.
"I-I don't know what to say Jack."
"You don't have to say anything Lei. I've been preparing myself for the time that we'll see each other. And now, I can finally tell you what I feel."
Lei was speechless, not knowing what to say to him.
"Jack, I...." Before she can even continue, Lei was surprised to see Jack hugging her.
"I'm not expecting for your love in return but just hear what I have to say please.." He said, still hugging her.
She just inhaled deeply.
"Okay then, but you only have 30 seconds to say everything you have to, alright?" She said while smirking.
"B-but that's too fast." Jack protests, pouting at the same time. Lei sees this action cute and charming, she laughs softly.
"Hey, I was just kidding, silly." She said, giggling.
Jack just chuckled.
"Here goes then... It's not just my name or the other guardians' that I've heard from you. I also heard that you have a crush on me, that made you more interesting. Since that day, I was always here. I've almost forgotten my duties as a guradian because every passing day that I watch you, I started feeling something weird yet wonderful. And that makes me want to see you everyday, every moment. Until I finally found out that I've fallen for you. I was wondering when will I have the courage to tell you. And apparently, the time that I was waiting for is, now."
"There, I'm finished." He said, feeling a bit nervous.
"You know, I do have a huge crush on you. I was always dreaming about you. Even daydreaming. Haha. And I also, always tell my friends that you're my lover, even though I know the reality that we can never be together."
She stopped, thinking that she's done, Jack frowned and felt hurt. Lei sees his reaction, then she just bursted out laughing.
"Why are you laughing?"
"Simply because you didn't let me finish."
"Oops, sorry about that." Jack said as he rubs his head.
"Now. May I continue?"
He nodded.
"The reality is that we can never be together but then you showed up to me and started confessing your feelings. I feel so happy and lucky. But I know that I don't deserve your love.
"That's not true. You are always deserving because you are a good person Lei. I know that."
"Thank you Jack."
"You're most welcome." He smiled.
"Now, shall we turn your dreams into reality?" He said with a smirk.
"Hmmm... I don't know..." She then, began laughing at her own statement.
He started laughing aswell, not noticing Lei tip toe-ing to give him a peck on his cheek. Jack was surprised, feeling the warmth enveloping his face.
Before he could say anything, he sees Lei already making dinner. He just smiled and hugged her from behind. Even though shocked, Lei just continued cooking while enjoying in his embrace.
