A/N Hello people. I'm back. Did you miss me? Probably not... Oh well. I'm going to write when I can and I won't have a schedule for posting. I would appreciate more comments but I'm not going go force you guys to. Just let me know if you're enjoying it.. This is for MoonyMarauder I just want to thank you for inspiring me to write again! 💚

I also want to point out that this is a work of fiction so whilst a lot of this is based off the books, a lot of it is also made up.

The rest of the train journey wasn't much better from there on. Sirius made every effort he possibly could to walk past my carriage (which nobody else was seated in) and make small remarks about me that upset much more than I wanted to show. My face seemed to betray my pain when he laughed at each and every comment made. Remus followed Sirius as if he was lost and he was the map to lead him home. That hurt the most. I thought he might stop Sirius but he did nothing but give me sympathtic looks as he walked past. I moved to the window, observing the lush green scenery, and tried my hardest to ignore them.

When the train finally pulled to a stop, I waited until I knew no-one else would walk past, then slowley made my way onto to the platform. I paused in my tracks when I saw the giant of a man walk towards me. Unconsciously, I started to shake. That was, until I heard his rumbling voice offer me a hand with my luggage. I passed my suitcase to him, clutching my mums diary close to me.

"Charlotte? Charlotte Brooklyn? Is that you?" The unknown man said, his hair shaking with every heavy step he took. I looked up and nodded slowly. Before I could process what was happening, I was pulled into a bone crushing hug. "I'm Hagrid, I was at the school when your mother was. 'ow is she? Is she still trying to create those ridiculous potions of hers?"

"She passed away" I whispered quietly; I didnt want anyone to hear I had no mother, that would just spark more bullying, especially from Sirius. The giant man let out a wail and sniffed rather loudly above me.

"I am so sorry Charlotte. She was a wonderful witch and obviously a stunning mother, looking at you. Oh, pardon my manners, Im Rubeus Hagrid, 'ogwarts groundskeeper. I remember getting the owl from your mum saying she was pregrnant. We were best friend yer see."

Just as he wiped his eyes, a small girl with reddish hair walked over and asked when we would go to the castle. Hagrid instantly perked up almost as if someone has poked him in his side. "Oh yes, right away! Everybody to the boats, go on. Three to a boat. Charlotte, you can come with me." I sighed quietly with relief. At least I wouldnt have to put up those three for a little while. The small wooden boats rocked gently on the black lake as the water lapped slowly against the dock. Hagrid and I got in the first boat with a few other students and sat quietly as the oars moved us to the castle.

The closer we got, the more breath taking the school was. The light stones and the small windows worked perfectly together and the lights inside illuminated sections of the lake, making it look as if there were spotlights dancing on the water. My mind started to wonder about everything that could be in the castle and the lake. I was abruptly brought back to reality when our boat gently hit the dock. We all clambered out, excited to see just what the next 7 years would have in store.

As we ascended the cobbled staircase, I noticed a woman dressed in a set of dark green robes waiting for us.

"'ere you go, Professor. All delivered safely." Hargid boomed when we stopped.

"Thank you Hagrid," She turned to look at the rest of us, "Good evening children, I am Professon McGonagoll. Behind these doors is the start of your life at Hogwarts. Now, when all is ready, you will escorted to the front of the hall and sorted. When sorted, you will sot with your house and the feast will begin. Does anyone have any questions?" Noone said a word so we watched as the witch disappear behind the doors just to reappear a few minutes later. She beckoned for us to follow her and we did in silence. Then the doors opened.

The first thing I noticed was just how many people there were; then I noticed the roaring fires on the outskirts of the room; then the way the four tables were split; and finally the stool with a old hat perched on top in front of the teachers. It didnt look spectacular but I wasnt about to take anything for granted. Professor McGonagoll then stood above us and began tp speak, "When I call your name, please come and sit on the stool, await your sorting then sit eith your house. Any questions?" She paused, "Good." She called out a few names but I zoned out. I only concentrated again when she called,
"Black, Sirius" He was sorted into Gryffindor along with Remus Lupin, James Potter, Molly Prewitt, Lily Evans, Peter Pettigrew, and Arthur Weasley. I lost focus again and then she called my name, "Brooklyn, Charlotte"

I walked slowly up to the chair and sat deadly still when she placed the hat upon my head. "Hmm," It began, "Brave, yes, Gryffindor would be a good house for you. No? Hm, not quite a Ravenclaw nor a Hufflepuff. Well, I can see the ambition in you and youre definitely cunning - even if you dont know it yet. It has to be SLYTHERIN!" The other Slytherins screamed with excitment at another classmate joining them. I stood timidly and made my way over to the far table and sat down. Before I could fomd a way to not talk, a girl with untamed, black hair stuck out her hand and introduced herself to me, "Hello, Im Bellatrix Black. This is Lucius Malfoy, Narcissa Black and Severus Snape. Welcome to Slytherin." I introduced myself and then the feast began. There was so much food I didnt know where to start: the plates were piled high with pies, potatoes of various sorts, meats and vegetables and other foods that I couldnt name if I tried. I settled for a simple turkey roast with gravy and some pumpkin juice. By the time dessert arrived, I was too full to even contemplate eating it, so I sat and waited for everyone else and listening in on others conversations - mainly Bellatrix talking about how much of a disgrace Sirius was.

Not soon enough, we were escorted to our dorms. The dungeons gave me a slight chill but I stool tall and kept walking. Bellatrix, Narcissa and I ended up in a room together and we spent a few minutes deciding whos bed was whos and some rules for the room like keeping it tidy. Before we could start talking about anything else, I changed into my pyjamas and slipped into bed. This is going to be an exciting 7 years, I thought to myself before difting off into an empty sleep.
