I got up to the night. There was people snoring in the background. I wandered around the camp for about 10 minutes until I saw Gendry. His hair was messy and shiny. He rubbed his eyes and walked toward the trees. I went down by the stream and picked up a rock. It looked like a crystal to me. I put it in my pocket and ran off. I ran into the woods away from everything else. I leant against a tree and gasped for air. My breathing was heavy and uneven. I was surrounded by trees. I couldn't see the camp any more. I sat down and looked up. There was a red comet. What the? That comet is in the old dragon tales. No, no way. Are the dragons back? As I looked at it I realized that there were comets like that all the time. I breathed out a sigh of relief. I laid back down and looked at the stars. They were beautiful.
I heard grunting in the background. Something was getting cut. I got up and hide behind the trees. I made my way toward the noise. All I could see was some wood splinters on the floor and they kept coming. I went to the other tree without the person noticing. I peeked out behind the tree and saw a man. He was about a foot and a half taller than me. He was slicing the tree with a heavy sword. The tree looked hurt. I stepped closer and a twig about as long as my foot snapped between my boot. I quickly hide behind the tree and tried to slow my breathing.
"Who's there?" The man yelled. I think I recognized the voice. I couldn't make it out. I heard him walking towards me. I kept as still as I could. I saw a sword go across my neck. It was barely touching. His hand was around and the other hand grabbed my chest and spun me around the tree into the open. The top of the sword was on my neck and I was breathing heavily.
"Arya? Why would you sneak up on me like that?" It was Gendry. Thank god it wasn't a man who only cares about food no matter what it was.
"Can you drop your sword please Gendry? Sorry I didn't know who you were and I thought if I could find out who it was then I could alert.." He dropped his sword and hugged me. I couldn't breathe. He smelled of sweat.
"I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry." He said in a voice that made him sound like he was crying. I hugged him back as best as I could with him holding me so tightly. He let go and I gasped for air and flopped down on the green grass. He sat down beside me and played with a blade of grass.
"You don't need to be sorry. I'm sorry for whatever happened. Are you okay." He looked strong now and confident. He looked at me with no expression in his face.
"I was just thinking about something and I forced my anger out of my system by doing that." He gestured to the tree. The tree looked absolutely dead by now. Like someone had slaughtered a pig and didn't clean up the blood.
"Do you want to head back to the camp or should I leave you alone?" I looked down. Hoping that he would say that he wanted to go back to camp with me. I picked up the sword. It was bent sideways and it wasn't sharp anymore.
He stood up gently taking sword from my hands. Our fingers barely touching.
I got up after him and walked silently behind him towards the camp. He had sweat rolling down the back off his neck and his skin was shiny. What had happened before I got there? I feel so terrible. He had just cried. Men don't just cry over everything like some girls. This had to be something personal. He had also hugged me. I don't think it was weird just sad.
A tear rolled down my face and I quickly wiped it away. I will not cry, for he is one who is upset.
I heard screaming ahead. Gendry stopped and hide behind the tree. I went to the closest tree.
"Arya" He showed a dagger. I held out my hands and caught it before it could hit my face. I cut myself a little but it couldn't hurt now and not ever. He mouthed 1 2 3. We both ran and attacked the guards in all white. The guard that I had attacked was beating up a boy with his sword. I stabbed the dagger through the back of his neck and then yanked it out. I repeated this several times until he was dead right there on the floor. I stabbed him one more time. My hands were covered with blood. I didn't look at the guard, just at the grass beside him.
I looked up at Gendry. He was still fighting the guard. I got up and ran towards them with my dagger. I stabbed the guard in the back and he screamed in pain. I held on to the dagger as he tried to get me off. As he moved the dagger would move down, slicing his back. Gendry regained his balance and put his sword through the guards heart. The guard fell backwards landing on me.
I couldn't breathe. He was too heavy. I tried pushing him off of me but I was weak and out of breath. I saw Gendry's face just before the guard was pulled off me. A hand reached out and grabbed both of my hands pulling me up. Gendry looked sacred of me when he pulled me up.
"Well that was crazy. Why did you help me? " He put all of that very fast and very quiet. I shrugged and grabbed my dagger from the back of the guard. The other kids were shouting and clapping their hands.
I bowed and Gendry did too. Were we their heros?
