Bloody hell, this place is massive! And everyone is too busy to help a freshman who is very obviously lost. The first half hour at Lakewood High School, and I don't have a clue where my classroom is. Great. "Hey, you need help?" a voice behind me asks. I turn around to see a group of girls. They look like sophomores. "Uh, yeah." I say. "Help would be nice. Thanks." "No problem." the girl who asked me if I needed help in the first place says. She glares around at the crowd of other students. "All the rest of these jerks are too busy shoving their heads up their asses to realize someone needs help. What's your name, by the way?" "Thalia." I say. "Thalia Skywalker." "Cool." the girl says. She has short brown hair, tan skin, and blue eyes. "I'm Abby Wambach. Guys, introduce yourselves." "I'm Megan Rapinoe." a girl with short, blonde hair and brown eyes says. She's bouncing on the balls of her feet. Either she's naturally hyper or she's just had two large cups of espresso. "Alex Morgan." a girl with a brown ponytail and blue-green eyes says. "Carli Lloyd." a girl with dark brown hair and brown eyes says. "Hope Solo." a girl with hair the color of dark chocolate and icy blue eyes says. "So, where do you need to be?" Abby asks. I look down at my schedule. "Lit." I say. "We've got that first too." Abby says. "Follow us." "You have it with me?" I ask. "The classes are mixed grade here." Pinoe explains. "The only reason they even have grade levels is so they can determine when you graduate." I follow the girls to a large classroom that looks more like an auditorium. A lecture hall, I think it's called. The six of us choose seats in the back, and get out our tablets. The teacher starts droning on about proper essay form or something. It's boring, so I tune it out. I look to my left, where Hope is sketching something on her tablet. A moment later, a picture pops up on my tablet. It's a caricature of the teacher, with a speech bubble saying: "double spacing, blah, blah, blah." judging by the barely stifled giggles from the other girls, they saw the picture too. I quickly draw an official looking seal that says "Jedi seal of approval", and send it to all the others. Jedi? comes a message from Abby's tablet, but the other girls can see the message too. Yeah. It's a nickname from my old school. I explain. But why 'Jedi'? Carli asks. Cuz of my last name. Skywalker. 'Star Wars'. I say. Makes sense. Pinoe says. Abby's busy drawing something, and a picture pops up. It features a broad-shouldered boy. The heading reads "Scoring a brilliant goal according to Lucas Martin." I look at the picture. It depicts a soccer ball flying into the goal after very obviously having bounced off the boy's rear. We pass the time in this manner until the bell rings. "What've you got next, Jedi?" Hope asks. "Art." I say. "Great!" Pinoe says. "So do we!" we reach the art room, and I instantly fall in love with the place. The room is covered with artwork, and there are more art supplies than I have ever in my lifetime seen in one place at one time. I grab all the supplies I need and begin to draw a picture of a soccer match. Alex looks over my shoulder. "You like soccer?" she asks. "Hell yeah." I say. "I live and breathe the game." "Cool." Alex says. "What position do you play?" "Forward." I say. "Hey Abby!" Alex calls across the room. "What do you want?" Abby asks. "I found your long-lost sister!" Alex says. "How do you figure?" Abby asks. "She's a great artist, she lives and breathes soccer, and she plays forward." Alex says. Abby laughs. "You may have a point, Alex." she says. "Course I have a point." Alex says. "Don't I always?" "No." Hope says. "You never have a point." Pinoe adds. "No one asked you." Alex says. "You asked us." Hope says. "No, I asked Abby." Alex says. Abby, Carli, and I watch this argument with amusement. Eventually, Abby steps in. "Ladies, ladies." she says. "You're all beautiful. Don't argue." "Shut up, Abby." Pinoe, Alex, and Hope say in perfect unison.
A.N: The picture above is Lakewood High. Also, Lakewood High is completely fictional.
