Mark watched in horror as people ran around and died.
"We need to get out of here.. Now.." Jack looked at Mark seriously.
Mark looked at Jack.
The power turned back on.
Mark smiled and turned on the news.
"-they are starting to build 'Safe Zones' throughout the U.S. They are building one in LA. It will be as far away as possible from the city and will have power, food and water to last at least half a month so far." The reporter announced, sort of quickly.
Mark got up and grabbed a backpack he had that held a few things. He dumped it out and grabbed an extra shirt, as many water bottles as he could find and a few bags of chips and other snacks. He ran into the bathroom and grabbed a towel and an aid kit. He stashed the towel in the now full backpack and tossed the aid kit to Jack. "We need to go. Now."
Jack nodded and agreed.
Mark swung the bag around his shoulders and ran down the hall and looked around. "Where the fuck are Bob and Wade!?"
"Mandy and Molly said they were going to look around at the stores.. Remember? They could be dead for all I know." Jack stopped next to Mark and caught his breath.
"They're not dead, Jack! We need to find them." Mark hurried to the elevator.
Jack stopped in front of the doors of the elevator. "We should take the stairs... What if the power goes out again?"
Mark walked out of the elevator and ran towards the stairs, Jack close behind.
They both hurried down the stairs and reached the lobby, which wasn't that far because they were only on the 3rd floor.
Mark stopped to catch his breath and looked around the lobby. It was empty.
"Jack, look around to see if there is anything we can take." Mark stood up straight and breathed out.
Jack nodded and looked around the lobby. He didn't find anything. "Nothing.."
"Shit..." Mark cursed under his breath. "Well let's go then."
Jack followed Mark outside. There were cars and buildings on fire, people running around screaming, gun shots and blood everywhere.
Mark grabbed jacks arm and pulled him away and began running down the street, yelling Bob and Wade's name.
"Mark! We're not going to find them! Not right now anyways.." Jack pulled Mark to the side, to catch his breath.
"We need to find them! We can't just leave them here and let them die!" Mark yelled, running again.
Jack groaned and ran after him. "Mark!"
Mark started to run slightly faster and looked around the burning, crumbling town.
"MARK!" Jack shouted.
Mark turned around. His heart sank into his stomach.
Jack was pinned on the ground and a zombie was trying to bite him. Jack kept pushing the zombies face away and screamed marks name.
Mark ran back towards Jack and kicked the zombie off of Jack. He helped Jack up quickly and grabbed his wrist and began running again. "Don't ever leave my side, alright?" Mark looked at Jack, scared.
