A/N: I really have nothing to say at this point. I hope to update very shortly after my first chapter, so keeping dreams high!
-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-Darkness was all Nora could see. She moved around a bit, feeling a blanket and pillow. The room looked similar to her room, so she had no need to worry.
"Just a dream."
Narrator: Is Nora mental?
Writer: I'LL EXPLAIN LATER! STOP TALKING!
Narrator: Fine! Jesus Christ, what in the Hell has gotten you so worked up?
Writer: Nothing.
Narrator: I don't believe that.
Nora proceeded to get out of the bed, but her head hit something before she could even stand up straight, making her sit on the bed. She rubbed the back of her head when the lights turned on. The change in light practically blinded her. As her eyes adjusted ,she saw that this was not her bedroom, but something of almost the complete opposite. The walls were a pale gray, almost white, looking as though they were glowing. The only furniture was a table set up in the corner, and the bed that she was laying on, which was a metal frame with white sheets.
Nora felt above her, trying to find out what she actually hit her head on. Looking up, she only saw the ceiling, the same shade as the walls. However, she felt something similar to a cool metal surface above her, but there wasn't anything there. Her hand just stopped in midair.
"I'd suggest not to touch the barrier too much. It supposed to trigger an electric shock at the point of contact if it is held there too long or forcefully." a young woman's voice calmly was speaking behind her. Nora turned around and saw Lucent, but her hair was a sharp electric blue. "I had to set it up under orders, it was a precautionary measure. The Bishops are very strict when it comes to these matters. Sleep well, Nora?"
"What the hell is with you people!" Nora slammed her hand down on the mattress, causing Lucent to jump.
"What do you mean?" Lucent's head tilted in confusion.
"You're just... you're all so calm about everything! Can't you see that I'm freaking out over here! It doesn't make sense!" Nora was fuming. Nothing made sense really anymore. Nora was ready to burst when Lucent started laughing.
"Lillian was right, you have some temper there, Nora." Lucent fell on the floor laughing her head off. Nora couldn't take it anymore, shooting up from where she was sitting to only sit back down in pain from hitting her head again. Lucent paid no attention to her pain.
Lucent eventually got her laughing under control after a good two minutes of gasping for breath.
"How did you get in here? " Nora collapsed back onto the bed, seeing it was a waste to try getting up. She also noticed when she was looking around that there was no doors in the room, causing her to question how they both got in here.
"I don't know how to explain in a way that is understandable, especially for someone who has just woke up from such a traumatic experience. You didn't actually answer my first question." Lucent walked to where the barrier apparently was, but didn't step any closer than that.
"Fine, I guess. Where's Lillian? Her parents?"
Lucent sighed, slumping her shoulders. "The Bishops are having a gathering with the United States branch of The Society. You're kind of a big deal."
"What is this fucking 'Society' thing? You need to start explaining right now, or I'll..." Nora didn't know she could do. She really didn't have a bargaining chip, much less any control over what would happen, maybe. Lucent smirked, and walked closer to the bed, the barrier doing absolutely nothing to faze her movements.
