Just One More Chance

Plot: A young couple named Luke and Hailey are about to get married soon till they end up having a big fight which leads Hailey to go drive to her parents house but before she gets there she ends up getting into a bad car crash and she die's. A officer named Pete Lincoln knocked on the door and Luke answered the door, officer Lincoln told him what just happen and Luke breaks down. The next day everyone is at Hailey's funeral, Luke sees a man with sunglasses standing by him self so Luke goes over to him but he disappeared the Hailey's mother goes up to talk to Luke and she tell's Luke how much Hailey cared and loved him, then she left. Luke is driving home and when he walks into his house he sees that man with the sunglasses in his house and Luke asked why is he here and the man tells him his name is death and he's here to talk to Luke about his fiancé, Luke tell's death to leave or he's calling the cops, Death told him something to make Luke believe the reason he's there. Death and Luke go for a walk and they end up at Hailey's grave stone and Luke asked why they're here and Death tells him that they're here because Luke has to know what pain looks like, then they sit down and Death asked Luke why he didn't pay more attention to Hailey? Luke replied back that he did but he was always busy with work and Death said " I'll never understand you humans, when someone is alive they're nothing but when they're dead they're everything. Do you know that Hailey cared about you more then a person could ever care for someone.. See I'm the painful truth that no one wants they want the beautiful lie of life cause they're scared to face the truth I'm not just here to take people to heaven or hell everyone thinks of me as the monster but in fact I'm not life is the monster you humans are the monsters, but right now I'm here to tell you something that will hurt you, you know when you're wife asked you about your thoughts on starting a family?" And Luke replied "yes" Death said " well your wife was already pregnant but to scared to tell you..." And Luke breaks down. Luke asked Death to give him a chance to start over and Death told him he couldn't do that and Luke told Death that he would do anything that he would die to bring them back and Death told Luke he can try to do something but Luke has to tell Hailey's family everything and tell them he's sorry. So Luke goes to Hailey's parents house to talk to them, Hailey's mother asked Luke what's wrong and Luke has the family sit down and tells them that he really cared and loved Hailey and then he says "I need to tell you the reason I'm here is to tell you it's my fault she left, we got in a fight about how I wasn't ready for a family but she was and.... She.... Was pregnant..." Then Hailey's family breaks down. Hailey's mother goes to Luke and hugs him telling him it wasn't his fault. Luke goes outside to take a breath and Hailey's sister Courtney goes outside to talk to Luke asking him if he was okay and he told her he was fine then she told him that Hailey always talked about him from the first time they met and she told him that Hailey never had a boyfriend before and Luke was her first then Courtney gave Luke Hailey's notebook that had notes she wrote about him then Courtney left. Luke goes home and Death is sitting on the chair and told Luke that he has to show him something, then they both go back in time to were Luke and Hailey were freshman in high school and death told Luke to look, it was Luke when he was younger giving flowers and kissing Hailey before they went to class, younger Luke smiled and Hailey smiled back then they went to class then Death said "that's what you're guys love was then you grew older and treated it like it was nothing." And Luke asked Death if they're in the past could Death give him a chance to fix things and Death told Luke that's not how it works then Death takes them back to the present time. Luke goes back home to look at pictures of him and Hailey, then he remembers that he has that notebook that Courtney gave him and he looks at it and starts reading it and ends up crying. Luke hears a knock on the door so he goes to check it out and it was a man. Luke asked the man who he was and the man told Luke his name is Ben and that he was a old friend of Hailey's and that he needed to give Luke something that was from her that he was holding on to till Luke's birthday then Ben left. Luke opens the gift and it was a pocket watch just like the one his father used to have, then Luke falls to the ground. Luke has a flash back of him and Hailey at a beach and in the flashback Hailey is kissing Luke and tells him how much she loves him, then it goes to another flashback of them walking in the woods to a lake then the phone rings and Luke answers it and Hailey's mother asked Luke to come over for dinner so Luke does. Luke and everyone are at the table eating then Luke starts freaking out and leaves to go outside, Hailey's father steps outside to talk to Luke and tells Luke a war story then after finishing he tells him how hard it is to lose someone, that he is having a hard time believing she's gone, then Luke hugs Hailey's father telling him he's really sorry then leaves. Death appears and asked Luke if he has learned his lesson and Luke flips out and tells Death to leave him alone, Death leaves. Luke drives home and goes to read more of the letters that Hailey wrote then the ghost of Hailey appears and Luke gets up and goes to hug her then she yells at him telling him it's his fault and Luke cries asking for her forgiveness then she goes away. Luke drinks himself to sleep. The next morning Luke goes to work and his boss asked him where he was at for the past few days and Luke told him what happened and Luke's boss tells him he doesn't care what happened and that they were falling behind without him and Luke gets upset and punches him boss and tells him there are more important things then work. Luke walks out and drives home to read more of what Hailey wrote and he's drinking and smiling and listening to their favorite song. Weeks pass by and luke starts to lose it then he calls for Death and Death shows up and Luke tells Death he understands everything and he had learned his lesson then Death said "do you understand now that you can't push things away cause once you do those things never come back" and Luke replied "yes! I understand, I know I was selfish, I know that I messed up but just to see her happy and just to see our child happy I would die a hundred times to just see that." Death told Luke that his lesson has been learned and that he has a choice to either give his life for his soon to be wife and his child to live or he lives on with his life and Luke picks dying to save Hailey and their child, Death takes Luke's soul and then goes away. Few weeks later Hailey has her son and when they go home Hailey shows her son pictures of his dad and she tells him his father would of loved to met him. The End
