Gia glanced down to her drink as she grabbed it and finished it with the final gulp burning her throat. She headed away from her crew and onto the crowded dance floor. Her body moving along with the music, she felt great, nothing to worry about, nothing to give a damn about, she felt free and awesome. Cause she was finally free from a relationship and single, back on the market.
He had experienced a break up with the girl he loved. A fresh deep wound. But in the end, he could only blame himself for the mistake he had made for her cruel and harsh goodbye. He was heartbroken, knowing his mistake, he didn't think more to it. Drinking alone at the bar, he continuously took shots. One shot. Two shots. Three shots. Until he had forgotten the pain in his heart, along with the number of shots he had taken. He was starting to feel tipsy. That's when he spotted his childhood friend, Karen.
"You should chill on your shots, Dean." Karen spoke as she took the shot out of his hand and stared at it.
" Nahh, I don't wanna. Gimme that back." He spoke as he ruffled her hair into a mess and took back the shot.
"Are you okay? I missed you,Deannnn." She pulled him into a hug. He hugged back.
"No I'm not really okay. I miss you, too and We should catch up sometime." He whispered.
"Mhmmmm, yeah, text me." She waved bye and started to walked away.
His eyes followed her as she walked back to her crew, and laid eyes on all of them. That's when He spotted Gia, staring at him with those cute brown eyes.
"Let's hang again soon?" He took out his phone.
"Totally. Goodnight." She spoke as they exchanged number.
They hugged and waved goodbye.
...
Waking up from the hangover was the worst. She groaned of the thought that she had half an hour to get her ass to her Saturday class. But, she felt happy that she met him last night. Ding. Gia stared at her phone, buzzing with incoming messages.
" Morning, guys!" Jamie texted in their crew thread. Gia scrolled down the endless messages and stopped when she saw Dean's name.
" Hey guys, remember that guy, Dean from the bar last night? He's my childhood friend and he just moved back here. He wants to hang with us tonight." Karen texted.
"That guy? Sure, man. Let's gooo!" Alec replied.
"Alright. I'll bring him to our usual hangout place later." Karen texted back.
I can't believe it. I'm going to see him again tonight! Although, she only met him last night, she felt something different about him. Or maybe it was his hot features, the flawless jawline of his. Hmmmmm.
As night approached, Gia got ready, wearing her grey tank top and black leggings, it was body flattering. Gia never felt that she had a beautiful body since she weren't skinny enough to fit in the small size in Hollister. But, her curves were beautiful. Finally, she applied her natural makeup with a flattering cat eyeliner and left her house.
She walked to their usual hangout, at the park near her house. Everyone came, and chilled there everyday. It was their favourite chill place. They could smoke, drink, be as loud as they want. A place without rules. Well, as long as the security guards don't catch them.
As time passed, Dean had opened up to the crew, telling them his recent heart wrecking breakup with the girl he had loved for almost one year. Honestly, it was his fault. His greed. His mistake. That made the end of it. He had deserved it more than forgiveness.
" She's the one I loved. The one I care about. But, how could she be so cruel!" He spoke as he smoked his cigarette and held his beer tight.
Their eyes on him. how painful he looked, Gia thought.
" I know it was my fault, of what I did. But, I wanted a second chance to prove to her how tight I'd hold her. But, she changed her mind..." His eye, so teary. He had experienced the worst. They thought. How naive they must be.
"Dean... We're here for you." Gia spoke. She patted his knee, trying to comfort him. How little did she know.
"Yeah, bro. You have us, cigarettes and booze." Karen patted his back and smiled.
"Yeah." He smiled back and took a sip of his beer.
"But you know what hurts most? That she brought my hope up and next thing you know, she gave up two days later." He sighed.
" She's different. She didn't see me as some dick. Like how girls sometimes think about guys by their dicks, their looks and shit. If I had a girlfriend, I am loyal to her. I only love her." He continued. What a lie.
As night fell, they all left and Gia got back home. She thought of what he had said. He's a rare type of guy that be such a good boyfriend. Omg. Gia snap out of it! She hit herself consciously. Ouch. That was too strong.. She knew she had to stop thinking about him like that before she hurt herself again with these thoughts that'll never come true.
'I think I don't think of him like that. Maybe, I was just moved by his story.' She shook her head.
' I guess I should check on him if he's okay.' As She looked at the green clock on her wall.
