Chapter 7: Do you want the queen beach away from you or not?

I hated being sick. My great idea of the other day gave its effects. From being a crazy idea, it turned into a suicidal one.

Just kidding.

Well, since I was so wise and stayed crying in wet clothes for almost two hours, I got the flu. And I felt horrible. My nose was like a waterfall, my head hurt, I had fever and like that wasn't enough, that stupid cough made an appearance. The only good thing about that was that I had to stay home and not go to school, just for one day though. Usually, the flu only lasted for twenty four hours. Last night was pretty long, but I wasn't part of it. As soon as I finished eating, I went to my room and slept, only to wake up in the morning sick.

I saw him though. He was just like I remembered him. His eyes were blue, lile my mom's, but not with the happiness that they used to have before. He was thinner but taller. Let's say, he was the half of what he was before. I missed him, so much. He was my big brother, my dad, everything. After my parents died, he took the role of being them. I missed the time when every Sunday we used to play soccer together. We even built a tree house. Until he left. He never left an explanation. Nothing. I remembered that night like it happened yesterday.

Flashback.

"Connor!" I called. I woke up in the middle of the night because I had a nightmare. I used to have these nightmares when I was younger but it had been more that four years since I last had them. Connor always slept with me eveytime I had these nightmares. I was wandering through the house in the dark until I reached his room. I knocked on the door, but no one responded. I knocked again, but still nothing. I decided to just open the door. When I opened it and turned on the light, the room was empty. The bed was made and it seemed like no one had been here since morning. Where was he?

I got out of the room and searched all over the house, but there wasn't no one. Where could he be? He never leaves at night. Has something happened to him? Panick came to me. No, he was okay. I went to Clara's room. "Clara, wake up!" I panted. She woke up immediately.

"What is it McKanzie?" she asked sleepily.

"Connor is nowhere to be seen." I said, tears welling up on my eyes.

"What are you talking about?" she asked worried now.

"He is not in his room. I'm scared. What if he is not okay? What if something had happened to him?" I cried as Clara hugged me. I had a bad feeling about it. I knew Connor was not okay.

End of flashback.

After that night, I waited for him every day and night, but he never came, for two whole years. And that wasn't something I could easily forgive.

"Cinderella!" I forgot to tell you that Cameron stayed home to take care of me. What a gentleman? Besides, I was having a lot of fun. He felt guilty for taking me out on the rain and he was doing everything I requested.

"What?" I asked.

"Can we talk about what happened yesterday?" he questioned softly, taking a seat next to me on the couch. Oh boy!

"Please Cameron-"

"You promised." he raised an eyebrow and then made a puppy face. Curse you Cameron!

"Fine. Jesus Christ! You sound like a girl." I muttered. He smirked and then I told him everything about Connor and my parents. That was a really good story. Note the sarcasm.

"So, he left without an explanation." Cameron said after I finished my story.

"Yeah, Sherlock. How did you guess it?" I was more sarcastic than usually. The flu was affecting me more than I thought.
