"Can you please pay attention to what I'm showing you?"
He looks at me absentmindedly.
"Sorry what were we talking about again?"
Ugh!
Remind me again how I ended up with this.
Oh right. Cuz Jason is an ass.
"You know what? I'll just do the work alone. You can fail Bio for all I care"
I stand up grumpily and start walking away.
He pulls my elbow and turns me around.
"Look, I'm sorry okay? I'll pay attention this time. Just....don't go okay?"
He looks sincerely apologetic.
I'm not done contemplating when he drags me back to the chair.
I feel the warmth rising to my face.
Okayy?

It takes is about two hours of intense work but we're finally done.
We simultaneously let out sighs of relief.
"Well I'm glad that's done. So we can finally talk a bit."
"Yea, we can" I say.
Cue the awkward silence.
Why isn't he saying anything?
My eyes wander around the library a few seconds before falling at his face.
He's staring at me.
He darts his eyes away once he notices I saw him staring.
He smiles.
"I think we should go now. Since there's nothing else to do."
I stand up to pack my books.
He immediately snatches them from me.
"I'll carry the books. All you have to carry is my hand."
I stare at him wide-eyed.
"Oh come on. It's not that heavy is it?"
He attempts to weigh his hand on an imaginary scale and it just falls.
I laugh, that very loud laugh with the occasional snorts that only happens when Charlotte does or says anything stupid.
"Hey hey Carla calm down. The joke wasn't that funny. Come on" Kevin says as he pats my back lightly.

Why was I laughing so hard?

"Ok fine. I'll carry your hand, as dumb as that sounds"

He takes my hand in his.
I can't help but notice how perfectly our hands fit, and how really soft his feel.
I can feel the heat rising to my face so I try my best to avoid eye contact with him, or anyone else that stops to stare at our interlocked hands.
Basically, my eyes just wander around.

We don't say anything to each other and the silence wasn't awkward this time.
It was just bliss.

I take my books from him as soon as we reach the door of my class.
I'm silently praying that none of my friends saw us holding hands.
I whisper a 'thanks' and scoot into my class, straight to my locker.
I fan myself a bit to get rid of the redness that's made its way to my face.

"So y'all are together now"

"Yea, what was with all the handholding?"

"You know we should be the first to know if you guys are together now. "

Charlotte, Tiffany and Natasha have surrounded me at my locker.

I'm about to start explaining when Charlotte cuts me off.

"Well look who's here to pick Carla up"

Really??  Right now?!

I can't believe he's doing this.
Three nights in a row.
There's nothing to say to each other anymore.

"Hey Carla. I hope I'm not interrupting you guys."

Well darn right you are! And you should probably get your ass out of here before I smack you across the face.

"No, not at all. We just finished talking actually."

I mouth an 'I'm sorry' to my friends as they roll their eyes at me.

Why they getting all pissed like I always leave them for a boy.

It's not like I've always had a boyfriend.
No.
Sorry.
Scratch that, prom date.

What's wrong with me?

I'm sorry this chapter is super short. I really didn't know what else to put here. But I promise the next one will be better
