~Michael~

I clutched to her as she lied there in my arms, breathing and heart beating.

Nothing could have made me happier than to have her in my arms like this. She was alive and with me, that is all that mattered.

"Its a beautiful day. Would you like to go outside?"

She nodded and together, hand in hand, we went outside.

The sun shone around us and the clear blue sky contained not a single cloud. A breeze swept upon us and I breathed deeply taking it all in.

"Beautiful..." Callie breathed, lying down in the grass.

"Beautiful." I echoed, but I wasn't talking about the weather.

Callie layed with both hands behind her head, eyes closed, with her chest rising and falling steadily.

I layed down beside her and watched her so beautiful in the sun. Her pale skin seemed to glow in the light and her brown hair formed gentle curls around her face.

I stroked her cheek and her eyes fluttered open to look at me.

Smiling, I said "Have I ever told you how beautiful you are?"

She blushed a little and batted her eyes jokingly.

I smiled and looked into her eyes.

"Michael?"

"Hmmm?"

"What happened? I mean, after we fell..." She glanced at me.

I shrugged. "Mr. Clyde disappeared along with everyone else from their side." Anger pulsed inside me as I said this. I didn't think of Clyde as my father anymore. In fact, he was a stranger to me. Then again he had become a stranger since the death of my mom and sister.

"Oh." Callie said and closed her eyes contently.

I looked at her and smiled to myself.

"Do you remember the day we first met?" I asked her.

She cracked a smile. "How could I forget?"

"I thought you didn't even notice me." I admitted.

"Notice you? How could I not?" She let out a laugh.

"I certainly noticed you." I told her.

"Oh yeah?" She raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah." I nodded and leaned in to kiss her.

As our lips met an unfamiliar rush came with it. It wasn't the sweet feeling that made butterflies in your stomach which is usually what I felt when I kissed her, but this wasn't like that. It was a twisting feeling that formed knots in my stomach and my breath seemed to freeze in my lungs.

I pulled back to see Callie propped up on her elbow looking at me with dark eyes. So dark they were almost black.

"Callie?" I said uncertainly and placed my palm upon her cheek.

Blinking, her eyes returned to their regular clear blue. "Yes?" She asked.

For a moment, I stared at her wondering what had just happened.

"Nothing." I gave her a fake smile and she smiled back.

She turned back to look at the sky and so did I, but my mind was racing and all I could think was that was not Callie.

Days passed and I hadn't seen or felt the different Callie I had before. I expected it as a side effect of waking up from a coma with no memory. I shrugged it off and believed it wouldn't happen again. Unfortunately, I was dead wrong.
