Chapter 14 »»

[Jazmin]

I held Jazmin's head on my lap as Ben appeared above me, eyes flickering back and forth, eyes analyzing the scene before him. Before I could yell again, he disappeared in a glitch, then returned with the Majora's Mask.

The seizures hadn't stopped and I was worried it would leave permanent damage on her body.

Swiftly and quietly Ben put the mask on her, gently pushing her auburn curls out of the way.

I watched worriedly, as the mask started to glow, just as the seizures abruptly stopped.

"Jeff I need you to look away" Ben said matter of factly, as he leveled me with a blank but focused stare.

I nodded firmly, then turned and closed my eyes. Ben never let anyone watch this part, supposedly the mask brings out the raw form of the spirit, which mortal and immortal eyes couldn't witness. Only reason Ben could, was because it was his mask, and he didn't actually have functioning eyes.

A gust of wind hit me in the back of the head, tempting me to look, but I kept my eyes closed tightly. In my lap, I felt Jazmin breathing heavily, her hands clutching at the floor.

"Done," Ben announced, immediately taking the mask off when the transformation was done.

I opened my eyes, then took a deep breath, mentally preparing myself for the new and proxified Jazmin.

I turned and immediately gasped, while black iris's stared right back at me.

[Jazmin]

My vision was blurred as I sat up and looked around, dizzily.

I heard voices, but understanding them was impossible, the pounding in my head contributing considerably.

Unfortunately my vision cleared, just as my eyes found the reflective surface of a mirror.

Immediately a sob escaped me.

There was thick thread weaving in out of my lips, effectively sewing them shut. I clawed at my mouth, feeling the sudden need to throw up.

But that's when I noticed my hands, not worse then the thread but still equally disturbing.

They were claw shaped, and my fingers were long and pointed, the worst of all being the color of the gruesome digits. Starting at where they connected to my hand, they were normal, but then they started turning black going down the length of my fingers.

My face must've been one of complete disgust, because Jeff started muttering things like, "Your beautiful" and "Please don't freak out..."

I ignored him and finally my gaze connected with the one in the mirror.

My iris's were black, not solid black but black.

Making me get a haunted feeling as I stared back at myself.

I felt Jeff nuzzle his face into my neck and wrap his arms around my waist, obviously trying to comfort me...which seemed almost impossible at the moment.

I stared at his arms around my waist, long straight black hair almost completely hiding his lithe but muscled limbs.

I reached up and gently ran a hand through my new hair, a different texture and color. Before even if I straightened it, it still wouldn't even get this straight.

I was amazed and terrified, but the bottom line was that I looked nothing like myself.

And I didn't know if I completely hated it or not.
