(Samuel's POV)
I didn't know if it was all the excitement that I held in from yesterday or the fact that I had another chance for today made me feel so much more confident in coming into work. I was ready to give it my all again, showing them what I can really do for this company.
As I confidently walked into the building and towards the elevator, I saw the same man from before. He looked the same as well. I gave him a welcoming smile.
"Good morning sir!" I greeted him as I entered the small room. He gave me a brief nod with a small smile.
"I'm surprised to see you here again. I reckon that he actually gave you a chance?" The man questioned.
"Of course! He's not that bad when you get to know him." I confessed, but the man just snickered as the doors opened for his floor.
"Oh I know him well enough. Just be careful kid, he might not be what he seems." He told me before the doors closed.
I sighed but took a deep breath. He didn't know what he was talking about, they're just silly rumors. I'm not going to let that stop me from working for this company.
When the elevator finally stopped at my floor, I walked out towards my desk, still confident in myself with a big smile.
Rachel glanced up from her work as she saw me sit down at my desk. She smiled at me.
"You seem pretty jolly this morning." She commented.
I nodded. "Yeah of course! I just feel so much happier here, you know?"
Rachel giggle softly as she multitasked. "I completely understand. Let's just hope that he'll be glad to see that when he comes in today."
I looked at her puzzled and glanced at his door. "Mr. Sanders isn't here yet?" That's unusual, he's never late to work.
Rachel shook her head as she continued to type away. "No need to worry about him. You have your assignment posted in the documents, just carry on like always."
But I was worried about him. Was he okay? What if something bad happened? What if-
Right as I was going to ask Rachel another question, the sound of the elevator made me jump a little. I perked up to see Mr. Sanders walk out of it. Just like the man on the elevator from earlier, Mr. Sanders looked the same as before. The same professional movement as he walks towards his office with the same emotionless and focused look on his face; I wondered if he'd ever had any other emotions in him.
As he approached his door, he just gave me a brief nod and I returned it adding a smile.
"Anything on my schedule?" He asked Rachel.
As she reported to him, I studied him for that moment. It still made me wonder why he'd let me join this enhanced company. There were a million other people that he could've easily chosen but I was one of the lucky ones I suppose. That made me proud, knowing that I can help someone succeed. Even though I didn't know him very well, I was still glad to be a part of his dream to make this company grow.
Mr. Sanders turned back towards his door to open it and his eyes caught mine, making me quickly turn back to my work. I could hear him chuckle softly as he opened the door, making me blush, and closing it behind him. I let out the breath that I was holding from that embarrassing interaction.
"Dreamy, isn't he?" I perked up at Rachel's comment.
"W-wait, w-what?!" My face turned more red.
Rachel laughed softly. "I know how you look at him, everyone stares at him like that."
I was puzzled by her statement. "Everyone?"
