I woke up in a swirling pain. I felt extremely delusional. My neck burned and sweat coated my body. I couldn't even attempt to get up. I strained my head to the left and seen haze sitting in a chair.

He looked at me, his eyes holding sorrow. "What did you do to me," I growled, my voice cracking. "I'm sorry... But you were leaving. You're mine now, forever," haze said, calmly, as if it was nothing. "What does that mean," I asked, my eyes going wide.

He hesitated for a few seconds before stating, "I marked you." I froze and my heartbeat accelerated. My hand lifted to the spot between my neck and shoulder as it stung under my fingers. I shook my head as heat welled behind my eyes.

"How could you do this to me,"I whispered. His hand reached mine and he said, "you tried rejecting me. You will not leave me." I looked into his eyes, moving my hand from his as I said, "you're a monster. I hate you."

He straightened himself in the chair he sat in and cleared his throat. "I'll have someone bring you a meal, you must he starving. I need to handle some things, I'll come to check on you later," and with that he left.

I didn't even know what to feel. I was marked against my will. And now I was stuck with him. It was sure now, if he died, I died. If he hurt, I hurt. There was now chains, keeping me captive to him.

Why would you do this to me, moon goddess? You've seen everything I've been through. Why would you pair me with the only man in the world I was raised to hate. This was now the end of my existence to my pack. Once they found out haze was my mate, I would be outcast.

I was now the enemy, just as much as haze. I could've left, been happy with my pack but he had to forcibly mark me. I so badly wanted to cry, but I wouldn't. I wouldn't be weak. He ruined me. Years of training, years of preparing, but nothing could've prepared me for this.

There was a faint knock on my door and I didn't bother answering. The door twisted open and a tiny girl in a maids uniform set a tray with a delicious meal of French toast, pancakes, bacon and eggs with orange juice on the end of my bed. "Your breakfast, my lady," she bowed. I gasped and said, "please, don't call me that. This isn't my pack. I don't belong here."

She looked up at me and then back to the door with fear on her face. She rushed to my side and said, "shh, they'll hear you. I don't want to be punished." She was so scared and I knew at that moment she was a hostage. "What pack are you from," I whispered.

"Evangeline," she looked at the floor. Haze and his pack had destroyed that pack 3 years ago. It was said that there was no survivors. "How," I whispered. She looked up, sadness in her eyes. "I'm their servant" her voice cracked.

I felt sad for this poor girl, she couldn't have been more than 17. "What is your name," I asked her. "Jasmine," she whispered. "Jasmine, please stay here with me," I asked her. "I don't want to get in trouble, I have work......," she trailed off.

I stopped her and said, "fuck that! Fuck the work those bastards are making you do. You'll stay here with me, you're the only other person here who understands." She smiled and nodded.

She was a beautiful person. Inside and out. She had beautiful sun kissed skin, with jet black hair and big brown eyes. She was short, about 4'11. Her hips were wide and her chest curvy. My heart weeped for her and her mate.

She was mentally and physically destroyed. She would never be the same after watching her pack be destroyed then being kidnapped by those responsible for the fall of her pack. The fall of her family.

She coped well though. She worked, vigorously, in the day so she wouldn't be locked in the cell she stayed in.

I told her that this was the end of that. She was staying in my room, with me. And I don't care what anyone has to say about it. They'd have to come through me to hurt her.

I was a warrior after all and I was always taught to protect others before myself. And so she was now my responsibility to protect, and I would.

I was too busy in thought when the door opened. Haze growled and said, "what are you doing still in here, mutt?" He was talking to jasmine. I used all my strength and rose from the bed. "Don't you dare talk to her like that," I growled. He looked at me confused.

"You know her," he asked me, his eyes wide. "I know her now and she is under my protection, if you hurt her, if anyone hurts her, I swear to the goddess herself, I'll raise hell," my voice serious and steady. He looked at me with a smirk.

"You're lucky you're my mate," he chuckled. "Lucky? Hell no," I spat and sat back next to jasmine. Grabbing her arm and lightly pulling her behind me. I could hear little whimpers from her. It made me so mad.

"How could you people do this? You're all monsters," I growled at haze. He cleared his throat and said, "if you insist on her being here, I will have someone bring another bed." He then left the room.

I looked at jasmine and she looked astonished. "He just, the alpha, he just gave you what you wanted," she said, surprise evident in her voice. I rolled my eyes and said, "don't refer to him as the alpha, jasmine, he's a monster. And he's only giving me what I want because I'm his mate. As much as I hate it." She gulped and said, "I'm sorry, Serenity. I wish there was something I could do to change your situation."

I shook my head and said, "don't be. I'm the warrior here. But it's now my job to change your situation and I will." She hugged me and it was awkward as hell. I was stiff in her embrace and she whispered, "nobody has ever cared. You're a blessing."

I smiled and said, "...thank .... You..." But I was the exact opposite. I was chaos and I would show that soon. Once I get my strength up, this pack will see hell.

A/N- short chapter but I like the suspense of the wait .
