Chapter 1

"Olivia, wake up!" Still in a daze I register the voice, it's Mia. "Olivia where did you put my new pink lip gloss? You had it last when you borrowed it for Anne's wedding" Finally wide awake I realised I overslept its Monday and also the first day at our new school. "Mia it's in my car just go get it" I hear the frustration as she lets out a heavy breath. I quickly jump out of bed and into the shower; glancing at my bedside clock I see that I still have twenty seven minutes to get ready. I decide on a blue skinny jean with white pumps and a white tank top, I apply some mascara and run my straightner through my hair taking it up in a ponytail. "Olive if you don't come down for breakfast you're going to school hungry" My mom's voice echoed through the house. "I'll be right down." The smell of freshly made coffee and all bran muffins filled the air, I grab one and make my way towards my car after I said goodbye to everyone. "Don't forget to give your brother a ride to school" I hear my mom yelling after me. The ride to school was short and Aiden and Mia weren't of much company. "Ohh Olive, before I forget I'm going to try out for the baseball team after school so you'll need to wait for me an hour or so". "Baseball tryouts so soon?" Mia asks. "Yeah, I got the email last week" he replied. "I wonder when the cheerleading tryouts are". Knowing Mia she's going to make head cheerleader within the first week. She and Aiden has always been the sporty ones between us three, I'm more into the cultural parts like debates, music and reading. "Yeah, its fine I have some stuff to do after school too". "See you" He waved at me and made his way towards the school building. The first thing I notice isn't the school building in front of me but rather the tall, wide and fancy building behind it. "What's that?" I ask pointing towards the big building. Mia looks up from her phone "Ohh that's the Southoak High dorms". It's where most of the kids that live far from the school stay during weekends or whatever". "It's enormous and very fancy; it must cost a fortune to live in there". I said every word with admiration. "Well going to this school costs a fortune, and mom and dad happily wrote out those checks as long as it meant we can leave Beckendale behind". Memories flashed through my mind and I shake them off instantly. Mia turned to face me, "This is a new beginning okay; forget about that place and every memory you have about it". I gave Mia a smile and nodded. My first class was history and everyone seemed nice. "Hi, I never noticed you here before" a small voice from behind me said. I turned around facing a brown head girl with bright blue eyes. "No this is my first year attending Southoak High" I said friendly whilst giving her a small smile. "Welcome, you'll love it here!" she said all too cheerful. "Thank you" returning to my books I continued on my essay about world war two. The first three periods flew by pretty fast, when the bell rang for lunch I had no idea where to go, so I followed the mass of people on their way to the cafeteria. I recognised my sister waving at me to some sit with her. As usual she had a group of people with her; which I guess judging on their outfits they are probably from the cheerleading squad. "Olive, this is Chloe, Emily, Ava and Abigail; they are going to teach me the routine to try out for the cheerleading squad" I looked over the girls realising they all have blonde hair except for one girl; she has a plum hair colour with blue eyes. "Nice to meet you all I'm Olivia, Mia's sister". "I would've never guessed, you guys have no similarities", Chloe stated. Mia is a year younger than me but was in the same grade because I started school when I was seven and she started school when she was six. My mother said it's the way she always planned it out to happen. I took a seat next to the plum haired girl Emily. "So how's you first day been so far sis?" Mia asked. "It was good, yours?" "It has been fun so far, I've met so many new people and everyone is so friendly". Just as I opened my mouth to speak I heard a voice behind me, "Hello newbie's!" As I turned around my eyes met with his. He was so tall and dark, he had short hair cut neatly at the sides to shape his face perfectly, and He had these hazel eyes. I couldn't seem to get myself to stop staring at him. He bend down and gave Chloe a peck on the cheeks. "Hey babe, this is Mia and Olivia they go here now." I could see a small blush on Mia's cheeks, she was affected by him too, "Nice to meet you, I'm Ethan". The day flew by and before I knew it I was back at home. "Mia, Olive, and Aiden come downstairs your dad and I need to speak with you". "What's up?" Mia asked. My parents gave each other a look of unease. "What is it?" Mia said. Aiden and I looked at each other and we knew something was up. "Your father and I need to fly to New York Sunday morning, we have a business trip". "Okay and?" Aiden sounded annoyed. "We won't be back for three months". Wait what. They're leaving us. Alone. "We already organised for the three of you to stay at the Southoak High dorms for the time being". I looked at Mia and Aiden in confusion.
