Hey there, name is Joe. I went to prom with the girl I've been dating for years and I graduated at the top of my class. I'm on a full ride to Harvard and prepping up for a proposal to the woman of my dreams. I just sent in my resume for an internship that could lead into my dream job. Life is great.
Thats what you thought I was gonna say huh? Wrong.
I am not one of those humans who has their whole life written out for them. But sadly, I did end up with a routine life just like theirs and it sucks ass.
Alright, my real name is Pikn Rosaceae. I am no older than 17, in human years anyway. I am a Deity... in training. My father is the famed Deity, Cupid. He surprisingly has some merit in the world of the Deities. Oddly enough, that isn't even his real name. His real name is La Svanient. Every time I ask him about why they call him Cupid, he just brushes it off as something that happened back when he was in school. He obviously doesn't wanna talk about it. They did however name a day after him. They call it Valentines Day. This is the only day he works overtime. Enough about my pops, we need to move on.
Every Deity has powers that are unique to them. They do follow the lineage though. You can expect the child's powers to be very similar or in the general vicinity of their parents. Although, there is always one key factor that makes these abilities theirs. These powers are shown ever since a young age. But they are really weak and non pronounced until adolescence. Someone with fire powers would only see a few sparks from their fingertips whenever they would wave hello. But when they're old enough, they'll be able to conjure flames in a snap. That is why there are two high schools for Deities. These two schools are the only high schools in the realm. Their main focus is to nurture and learn how to control their powers while they are at their peak along with teaching them their usual human studies. You have Gron; a school that more of the higher ups attend. A lil snooty if you ask me but all the big names graduated here including my old man. My older siblings are currently attending Gron. You'll learn more about them later because you have me at Olpyami. This is the school for more of the rejects.
Why am I not attending the same school as my family you ask? Because I'm the loser who doesn't have powers. Yeah you heard me. Powerless. I am currently the only one who was born without any abilities. Not even my "Son of Cupid" reputation can overcome the "Powerless Child" reputation. In fact, I think my family is ashamed about it but they won't admit it. But I'm pretty sure its obvious since they stuck me in Olpyami. There is one school called The Beginning that serves as a boarding school for elementary and middle school. Its public and everyone goes there before high school. A lot of Deities in the upper ring get home schooled until it is time for high school. But because of my reputation they didn't bother. So I went to the public school instead of getting home schooled like my older siblings. Silver lining, I met some of the coolest people there. They are also going to have me attending a human school as well. The Council had informed me if I didn't develop aptitude of any kind then I would be exiled to the human world. No powers meant that I wouldn't contribute to society, which also meant that I wouldn't be contributing to the household. Since I'm the only one with this problem, they don't know if I age the same way either. Deities grow like humans up to a certain point of adulthood and then they are immortal in that body. It doesn't help that time runs differently here too. But without powers, the magic, my body could be that of a human. So I guess it would make sense to banish me to the human realm. Still, I would rather not. I heard that humans do some weird shit.
