"You're fifteen, going on sixteen in a few days, you know whats going to happen the day you turn sixteen. you should probably be ready for it... you know that if you never answer the question, noting will happen, but if you get it right you will be granted every wish you ever want. they never told you what happens when you get the answer wrong though... but hey, you have all the time in the world to answer it anyways, take your time." The robed man in my dream said last night. Maybe I should listen to him and just take my time. I mean it's not the end of the world if I don't answer the silly question. Maybe it isn't silly...

5 DAYS UNTIL AGE 16

I walked up to Alex at school, he started crying the moment I said 'hi'.

He said through his sobs "I turned sixteen this morning. The robed man came to me and asked me the question. Now I know why no one can ever answer it. Now I know why no one ever got it right."

I know you can't know the question until you're sixteen, so i couldn't ask what it was. If you tell anyone under the age of sixteen the question, you go to hell, they kill you and thats where they put you.

"Come here Alex" I said in a whisper "lets go home. We'll just relax today. You don't need more stress added to you from school, lets go."

I took his hand and we quietly walked out to his car and he handed me his keys and I drove us to his house. We walked in the basement and put a movie on, he was so stressed, I just didn't understand. How could the question be this bad?

"Bailey, can you promise me something?" Alex looked at me.

"Like what?"

"Promise me you'll never answer that damn question. i've seen what happens when you get it wrong. Its worse than punishment of telling someone the question." Alex winced like it hurt just to know.

"but what if I get it right? then i can make our lives perfect. we could move!" I said.

"But you won't Bailey. No one does."

"Okay. I promise..." i whispered as we fell asleep holding each other, scared... four more days until I know the dreadful question.

That night I dreamt of anything but good. Everything evil. The robed man... Four more days.

The robed man in my dreams told me that I need to start thinking. He says I already know the answer. He says I'm the chosen one. But maybe he does this to everyone. Maybe Alex hat these dreams too. He seemed pretty stressed a few days before too. Maybe.
