As a leader begins to crumble after his mate's recent death, Shadowstar looks upon his Clan and his two kits to help defeat a new danger that will endanger all the Clans.
After their mother's death, Berrykit and Sweetkit vow to get revenge on who ever killed their precious, warm-hearted, silver mother.
As they are made apprentices, Berrykit/paw begins to have strange dreams that involves her mother telling her clues about her murderer. Sweetkit/paw becomes jealous of her sister of how close her and her father become, she has thoughts of joining a new Clan or her mother's murderer.
Will Berrykit/paw ever find out who her mother's killer is?
Will Sweetkit/paw ever get over her jealousy with her sister and regain her thoughts? Or will she choose what her heart wants to do?
