Shelter - Cycle 499 - Day 258
Jonas POVWhen I came to, the first thing I saw, was a black silhouette of someone unfamiliar to me...
"Who are you? And why did you stumble across me?" That silhouette asked. Its voice was soothing to my ear. It sounded like a girl...
"I'm Jonas... and why am I here?" My eyes were still adjusting to the brightness of my surroundings.
"You're in my makeshift shelter. I have been living here for a year now, hunting for food by preying on small animals. I was hunting for food one day when I saw you collapse. You were unconscious for 3 days so I thought you were dead." Her alluring voice captivated me. I looked up, opening my eyes fully for the first time in a long while. She was beautiful. Her face was perfect. Her hair was perfect. Everything about her seemed perfect.
"I'm Cierce. Thank me. I have been caring for you for the past few days. By the way why do you have moonrock?"
I proceeded to answer her onslaught of questions with most of the questions being answered by yes or no. She was so beautiful, I got captivated and locked with Cierce's eyes. She glanced away from me. Sigh. Even the way she looks away is so pretty.
She turned back and handed me a bowl of water. Thank you, I was so thirsty. "I am usually under constant attack by the Deathless so I have hiding spots to hide from them. However, in these 3 days, not a single one attacked. At first, I thought you were some holy being to the Deathless but then I found your moonrock. Impressive how you found it, moreover such a huge chunk!" Her eyes stared greedily at the huge chunk of moonrock that would literally ensure her safety forever.
Her gaze was so intent on me that I blushed. I turned away and said, "If you accompany me away from this horrendous place they call Myriad, towards a haven that the Deathless does not exist in, I will protect you..."
"I don't need protecting now, it looks like the opposite way round, where I have to protect you. After all you just recovered. You also broke your leg when you fell."
"Why are you helping me?"
"It's not like I want to help you, but you're my childhood friend that I loved, Jonas. I was trying to confirm that fact until I found out that your name was Jonas. You also looked like the Jonas that I remembered. That kind of assured me that I knew you. We made a promise to get married together, but then we got seperated because I moved away. Remember me?" She hugged me.
The warmth of her skin against my body made my heart tingle with excitement. Her features close up made her even more beautiful. I wanted to make her mine.
However, someone I did not know was hugging me. I tried to push myself away and said, "I'm sorry, but I lost my memories a few years ago when I was 13 because of a freak accident. Then when I was 14, the Final War started. I lost..." I was unable to continue speaking because I had remembered the event that had happened then. Cierce was slightly unhappy with this fact, but she announced, "Then I'll help you make some memories, and hopefully they can overwrite any sad things that have happened before..." She proceeded to kiss me on the lips, straight on.
I was shocked for a moment but I kissed her back. Our tongues rolled around in our mouths, saliva mixing with each other's. We let go after a while, gasping for our breaths. Breathless, I closed my eyes, and remembered the soft touch of Cierce's hands on my body, her gentle lips pressing against mine, and her soothing voice.
I fell asleep, with Cierce by my side...
Shelter - Day 249
Cierce's POVI woke up earlier than Jonas. Looking at him, his thin figure yet handsome face, I instantaneously fell head over heels in love with him. I leant against him, wrapping his arms around me. I could feel the beating of his heartbeat and his shallow breathing. It made me feel tingly inside. I kissed him gently on the cheeks once, and lay back down beside him. Even though he doesn't remember me, I'm sure deep down I can trigger something to make him remember everything...
I replayed all my memories with Jonas. When I was 7, and he was 8, we slept
together because his parents were not home. When I was 9, he gave me a kiss for my birthday. What glorious memories. I smiled. He woke up with a jolt. He stared at me and I blushed. Finally realising what had actually happened the day before, he exclaimed, "Wait I don't really know you, so please stay away from me. Even thought you might have feelings for me, I don't remember having any feelings for you. So please don't kiss me."
I felt a mixture of rejection and anger. I gave my feelings for him, yet he didn't like me back?
But I decided to play it cool. "It's ok. I won't feel rejected or anything."
That afternoon, we left my makeshift shelter, which was my precious home, in search of a place without the Deathless.
That afternoon, began the biggest adventure of our lifetime.
