Prologue
I thought it would be like any other Wednesday afternoon. My dad would pick me up from soccer practice like always. But he never showed up...
"Are you coming to the party this weekend, Diego?" Liam asked contently. "yeah, but my dad is picking me up so I'll catch ya later." I turned my head at the sound of a large crash. The 2 cars were mangled together. I rushed over to the road to see if I could help. I slowed down stopping, realizing it was the same rusty black truck my dad drove for years. My heart started pounding as my hands starting sweating as I stared at the old truck. I looked at the filed, noticing everyone running towards me. My teammates were comforting me, but I couldn't hear their reassuring words, as my ears were muted by the horror that just occurred.
Two months have passed since the tragic accident that took my father's life. Now I must get a job to support my mother and sister. I don't know how we will make it in this world without hi, but all I know is that I am responsible for them.
