"You would have to leave in a few hours when it's mid day, that's when the security is low." Dom, Theodore's brother informed me. He was worried for me. He kept pacing back and forth in his lab coat in front of my bed, only stopping when he had something important to inform me about. In this short period of the brothers knowing me, I could tell they already cared a great deal about me. They really wanted me to get out of here and fast. They had already snuck me food and water to keep me energized while we planned my escape."So explain to me again, why do they want me?"
I asked while standing from the bed and stretching my legs. I couldn't wait to get out of here and shower. I had the same clothes on from the hotel which was a pair of blue jeans, and a black pull over hoodie. "You'll escape through those vents" Theodore pointed at an air vent above the metal door. He was sitting in his office chair that he pulled up to my bed. He then stood up and sighed while staring at the vent. It wasnt huge but it was big enough for me to fit. They kept trying to explain to me my escape plan while I was stuck on the fact that people actually thought I was some kind of mysterious magical creature."You'll travel through the vent until you reach a fork" Dom explained. "Go toward the right vent not the left one. It's important for you to remember this." Dom looked at me seriously.
"How do you know where the vents lead?" I asked curiously.
"Well we built this room" Dom said. "But it seems as though we were hired under false pretenses. Our bosses are actually kidnapping victims and leaving them here to do God knows what with them and we were blindly apart of it. Helping them. This was suppose to be a hospital for sick wolves, that is all."
Dom shamefully sighed and Theodore put his hand on Dom's shoulder. "And that's why we are quitting."
Dom quickly looked at Theodore. "You know damn well we can't quit." Dom's face turned stone cold as they both stared at each other intently so I cut in."Why can't you quit?" I was confused.
Dom cut his brown eyes from his brother and they turned gentle once he looked at me. "We work for a few powerful and dangerous men. We signed a few lengthy contracts upon us being hired. Basically if we quit, we die" Dom mumbled angrily still staring at Theodore. "Thats why I'm wondering why this idiot just suggested that we quit."
"They told you they would kill you?" My eyes widened and my heart beat quickened. Theodore looked to the ground deep in thought while Dom shook his head at me. "No, but it did say we cannot leave the job without consequence. We are bound to them. It did say that." He nodded.
"I will never be a slave for no man. We are not staying here." Theodore responded confidently with his head held high to his brother. I could see Dom's face twist back into a scowl and I knew this probably wouldn't end well. "How did you two end up working for these men anyway? And why did you agree to it if you knew you would die for trying to quit?" I quickly ask. Anything to keep them from getting angry about this. My stomach was turning at the thought of them being killed for not wanting to work a job anymore. They were stuck under some very evil people.
"Well" Theodore started. "They saved our lives a few years back, there was a huge fire at our parents house and they said they we're passing through our neighbourhood and saw the fire. By the time they got into our house our parents were already burnt to crisp but we we're alive and they saved us. So for exchange for saving our lives we agreed to work for them in this building everyday." Theodore shrugs. "It sounded good in the beginning."
Dom then cleared his throat. "And then things got weird." He looks at his brother and my eyebrows scrunch together. "Weird how?" I asked almost not wanting to know. I sat on my hard hospital bed intrigued with the story. Dom and Theodore both looked at each other than back at me.
