With that, my mother was all about it, saying it was her fault. That she was the reason I was possessed by some demon creature thing. She was in hysterics. She was sobbing, holding me in her arms when the teacher called her, saying I was a demented, possessed child. Now that I look at it, I think the teacher meant as in I was fucked in the head, but my mother took her literally. Let's look back on that day, the day my mother tried to fix me...

...Being smushed against my mothers bosom, she cries into my hair, her hands on my back. She pulls away, taking her warmth with her and she grabs my face in her tiny, soft hands. She blinks away the rest her tears, her eyes red and swollen, black make up ringing the bags around her eyes and leaving trail marks down her cheeks, like a tiny snail would. She stares into my dark hazel eyes and studies my face.

"Listen, Val, I need to tell you something. You must listen and promise to never do I what I did. Understand?" She asks, her eyes intense on mine. I nod my head, slightly afraid but curious.

"When I was a teenager," she begins, "I was out at a friends house. She had an Ouija board so she took it out and being the foolish kid I was, I went with it. It was me, her and two other buddies of ours. We put our hands on it and asked if anyone was there, and it moved to yes. We asked if the person knew our names. It spelt each of our first names out individually, so we figured it was a prank. But then we asked it's name. It went back between Z and O. It made the rainbow effect, moving between Z and O, so we googled the name. It's a demon named Zozo, and he should never be fucked with. Ever. Since that day the four of us have been haunted by him. He sexually touches us, likes to burn us with his claws and likes to visit us in our sleep. I haven't kept in touch with any of the other besides Calam, the girl who pulled it out. We talk every now and then and she told me everything that's been happening, he still haunts the three of them. He haunts me too. in my dreams...More like nightmares." She trails off, her eyes slightly glazing over and I say "Mom?" recalling her attention back to me.

"Sorry Val, but make me a promise. Promise me to NEVER fuck with an Ouija board. Don't do any shit like that. It's a portal. You never know what's coming through."

Understanding, even at my young age, I nod my head and say "Alright Ma, I understand. I promise." She smiles and grabs my hands in hers.

"Val, we're gonna get a blessing on the house and I am gonna go take you to see a psychic okay?" She asks, making sure I know what she means.

As a ten year old, that was a lot to comprehend and understand everything she's saying. I didn't even know why this demon was so bad to her and her friends. I don't figure out why until later, and the terrible things that happened to them.

"Ma, what could a psychic do for me?" I ask, completely unsure as to where she's going with that.

"It means I'm gonna go take you to see a lady, or man, who can see or sense these ghosts and demons. They're gonna help us out in figuring what's wrong."

I nod, feeling another pain in my head and my heart. Then my mom says something I wasn't supposed to hear. "Stupid fucking little shit head child."

Thinking back on that now, I realize it wasn't her talking, but my demon.
