Homecoming

Aria's POV

After I had finished my internship in New Zealand after one year, I came back to my lovely home. I really missed my family and friends and couldn't wait to hug them tightly until they couldn't breathe anymore. I loved my job in New Zealand but sometimes I felt horrible knowing I was over 14,000 kilometers away from my family and friends.

When I jumped out the plane, I saw my dad and Mike holding up a paper which said 'Welcome home, honey. We missed ya!'

Where's mum? I wondered but I didn't expect something bad so I didn't ask. I ran up to them and jumped in my dad's arms. Oh my god, how I missed the tight hugs from him. Mike also hugged me so I was between them. I couldn't breathe but I liked that.

In our car driving home there wasn't a moment where I didn't speak about my year in New Zealand.

Arrived at my old home I ran up to my room and jumped on my bed. My room hadn't changed, it looked exactly like before I left. I got up and went to my desk looking at the picture of me and my friends. I thought about how they might look now. I want to meet them like crazy. I immediately dialed Spencer's number but probably they had forgotten about me and found new friends, so I hung up quickly. Few seconds later I saw my dad at the door. He looked at me with a worried face.

'Dad, can I ask you something?' I looked down at my feet.

'Sure, honey. What's up?'

'Where's mum?' He looked down and didn't say anything.

'Dad. Say something, where's she? She wasn't at the airport and she also isn't here, so what's going on?'

'Aria.' He sighed. 'It isn't that easy to explain.'

'Tell me. Did something hap..?'

'We broke up, Aria. She doesn't live here anymore.' He interrupted me.

I didn't say anything. I was just staring at him.

'Why?' I asked as I calmed down.

'We had a lot of conflicts, so she moved out.'

'WHY DIDN'T YOU GUYS TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT THAT? DID YOU THINK IT WOULDN'T BE THAT INTERESTNG FOR ME BECAUSE I'VE BEEN 14,000 KILOMETERS AWAY?' I screamed at him and ran out of my room.

I left the house and ran with tears in my eyes. I was crying now. I wanted to go to Spencer so badly but I wasn't sure if I should go. I decided to go to the brew and order a coffee.

Having arrived at the brew I ordered a latte macchiato with some ice and cream. I sat down at the sofa and saw who came in.

Is that Mona? Oh my god. She really changed her look. I remembered her as a nerd with eyeglasses on and a lot of pimples but now she looks like a super model. I was impressed. When she saw me, she smiled and went up to me.

'Aria? Is that you? Oh my god, hiii!' She hugged me tight.

'Hi Mona, you look beautiful!'

'Thanks, you too! So in Philly is a really big party, do you want to come with me?'

I was confused because we never were friends and now she's so friendly to me.

'Uh, I'm not sure. I just came home from ..'

'Excellent, see you there!' She interrupted me and went out of the brew without saying a word.

I decided to go home to change my outfit and put make-up on. Yeah, I wanted to go to the party Mona spoke about. I put a tight red dress on and my favorite pair of black heels. I was about to go out as my dad came in.

'Where do you want to go?'

'Out.' I said quickly. I was still mad at him that he didn't tell me anything about what was going on between mum and him.
I only heard an 'Aria' as I went out on my way to the party.
