Reunited

Aria's POV

It was this girl I wanted to avoid but also wanted to hug at the same time. Spencer.

'Hiiiiii.' She said in a high voice and hugged me tightly.

I wanted to be the one who hugged her so tightly she couldn't breathe but I was too insecure. I didn't know what I should do in this moment so I didn't say anything, I just waited to get out of her hug.

'How are you? Since when are you here again? Why didn't you tell me, I missed you so much!' she drilled me with questions and the only thing I could say was 'Hey Spence, it's been good. Never felt better'

Why was I lying? I've never lied to the girls, but I thought that would be the best at the moment.

'Good to hear! Our first period will start in 5, so wanna come outside at lunch? I bet Hanna and Emily will also be so happy to see you again!' she said happily.

I felt so desired, I didn't feel that way in months and it was good. Maybe we could rebuild our friendship and this thought made me happy. I put an honest smile on my face and I truly meant it.

'Sure' I hugged her again and we made our way to our different classrooms.

'So what period do you have? I have History.' She asked, still happy to had one of her best friends back.

'Math' I responded.

'Ew your favorite subject' She said sarcastically and giggled. 'See you at lunch, Ar. I'm happy you're here again' She smiled and hugged me the last time.

'I'm happy too. See you then.' I smiled and went to my classroom.

The time flew by slowly. I only thought about meeting the girls again and for sure meeting Ezra in the evening.

Lunch time

I left my classroom and walked straight to the table where Hanna, Emily and Spencer were sitting. Seeing them after one year made me a bit nervous but I pretended to be cool.

I saw Hanna was looking in my direction, immediately stood and ran up to hug me.

'Ariaaa! You're here, oh my gawwd' She shouted so that everyone was looking at us.

'Shh, Han. I'm happy seeing you too but can you please talk a little quieter?' I whispered and felt embarrassed.

'No!' She yelled. 'Guys! One of my best friends is back from New Zealand! Finally we're reunited!'

I heard clapping and some of the guys shouted 'Welcome back!'

We walked to the table and Emily hugged me. Emily didn't change. It's been one year and she looked exactly alike from when I left. Hanna looked different. She was a lot thinner than when I left and she changed her style. She also had longer hair, she was so beautiful I didn't remember how beautiful my 'friends' were.

'So, Ar. Tell me about New Zealand.' Hanna began.

'I don't know what to say about it. It's beautiful but sometimes I missed you guys so much, it hurt.'

'Ohhh, we missed ya too. There was not a day where we didn't think about ya!' She said grabbing my hand.

Yeah, and why didn't you call or text me? It sounded so fake what Hanna said about missing me. They never called me except Spencer. But I didn't want to be mad at them, I was too happy to get them back.

'So now tell me about boys, did you have a boyfriend in New Zealand?' She drowned me with questions, great.

'Um, yeah, I had a boyfriend but it turned out he was a fuckboy, so no romance there, sorry Han.'

'Boring..' She sounded really disappointed. 'But did you hear about our new hot English teacher? His name is Mr. Fitz and he's like the hottest teacher I've ever seen!! Ohhh Mr. Fitz.' She smirked and it looked like she was in a daydream.

'Han!' I said, waving my hand in front of her face getting out of her daydream.

'What? Imagine how it would be to be taught by Mr. Fitz!! And I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks Mr. Fitz looks incredibly hot.'

'Han! Calm down. You have a boyfriend!' Spencer said, trying to stop Hanna to worship Mr. Fitz.

I was shocked because Spencer mentioned that Hanna had a boyfriend.

'Wait, Han. I'm confused. Since when do you have a boyfriend? I'm so happy for you! What's his name?' I asked bewildered.

'His name is Caleb and we started dating for 3 months.' She smiled brightly.

'Sounds amazing, good ...' She interrupted me.

'So who's also so excited for the next period because of Mr. Fitz?' She asked expectantly.

Why did she always bring up this stupid guy named Mr. Fitz? Hanna didn't change, she always had a lot of weird crushes and I was sure Fitz was one of them. And besides I didn't want to think about someone else than Ezra. Only in 6 hours I was going to see him in his apartment. I couldn't help myself but immediately smiled. Thinking about him made me always happy.

I was just going to answer her question as the school bell rang. Everyone except us hurried to go inside and went to their next period. We stood up and ran towards English class. Fortunately we all had this period together.
