Rejecting the Alpha

Realization

Waking up from my nightmare the next morning was not pleasant. Rolling off my bed and heading to the shower, I grab my phone and see I have 5 new messages. One from Tay, two from Zach, and three from Ace. Scrolling through them I smile at the texts and throw it back on my bed. 

Heading to take a long, needed shower, I grab my towel and a change of clothes. Setting the shower to the perfect temp, I step in. After showering and thinking of my current situation, I pull on my black skinny jeans, a loose white shirt, and my combat boots. Pulling my hair into a messy bun, I put on some simple makeup and grab my backpack and leather jacket. 

Running out the door with an apple in my mouth, I jump on my baby and get to school in record time. Literally running into school, I drop off my heavy ass books in my locker. Smiling when I see Zach, but then I see this girl hanging off of his arm. THAT LITTLE SLUT! 

I run over to him, ready to punch his face in for cheating on me already, but then I see matching marks on their necks. 

"Zach...?" I say cautiously. 

"Summit! Hey! I'd love for you to meet my mate Gabby." He smiles proudly down at the petite blonde.

"Hi" I growl out at her. She jumps back and hides her face in his shirt. 

"Zach. I thought we were together." I must have looked really hurt because he lets go of Gabby and hugs me.

"I can't be with you anymore Sum. She is my mate." This just makes me angry so I push him off so hard, he flies against the lockers, knocking him unconscious.

Stomping away I don't even care that he's out cold. Growling loudly at anyone who won't get out of my way, I head outside. Seeing Ace out by his truck, I flick him off and jump on my bike. He just growls at me and tries to catch up with me, as I hit the gas. Speeding off towards my house, I jump off and change into my wolf. 

Running as Peak is the most amazing experience a werewolf can ever have. Dodging trees as I run , I head to where my parents died. Sitting down in wolf form I am in the same spot my mother had died. Howling for the lose of my mother, I head to my old house and turn back into my human form. Opening the door to my childhood home, I head to my father's office. Sitting in his chair, I cry and open the same drawer that holds the same gun he used to kill himself. Holding the gun in my hand, I just break down, falling to my knees holding the gun to my chest. 

Ace walks in, looking frantic and scared, he runs over to me and tries to make me drop the gun. Screaming at him to leave me alone, he just starts crying too, pulling me into his lap. Burying my face into his neck, I sob until there are no tears left. He keeps rocking us back and forth, whispering soothing words into my ear. 

Once I am calm enough, I let him take the gun away and put it back into the drawer. He looks so relieved that I am okay, that it makes me feel so guilty for rejecting him. He grabs my face and kisses both cheeks.

"Don't ever scare me like that again!" He yells, which makes my flinch away from him. He sees this and looks guilty.

"Zach found his mate and dumped me." I whisper, but he catches what I said due to his werewolf hearing.

"I know" Is all he says, which pisses me off. 

"What do you mean you know!?!?!" I yell in his face.

"I helped him find her, we were out kinda looking for his mate.." He says quietly, I just get off his lap and slap him across the face.

"Why the hell would you do that!?!" I scream, tears falling freely now. My ex-mate took my boyfriend to find his mate. To make sure Zach and I broke up? So we would get back together? Hell no!

"I thought you should see what happens when you find your mate and DON'T reject them" He is starting to get angry too. 

"I only rejected you because I don't want to kill you if I die!" I scream in his face and run out of there, changing into my wolf.

ACE POV

Getting to school late, I am just getting out off my truck when I see my beautiful mate running out. I look over to her as she flicks me off. What the hell did I do? Following her in my truck, I stay behind her as she drops off her bike at her house, changing into her wolf. Following her actions, I change into my wolf and chase after her.

Seeing her stop in the middle of the woods, giving an ear piercing howl, which makes my wolf whimper and nudges me to get closer to mate. As I am about to get closer to her, she takes off again towards an old run down house. Running into the house after her, in human form, my heart just breaks seeing her on the ground clutching a gun to her chest. 

Screaming at me to leave me alone, I start crying too, pulling her into my lap. Burying her face into my neck, she sobs until there are no tears left. I keeps rocking us back and forth, whispering soothing words into her ear. 

"Don't ever scare me like that again!" Seeing that she flinches, makes me feel guilty right away. 

"Zach found his mate and dumped me." She whispers, but I pick up what she said.

"I know" Is all I say.

"What do you mean you know!?!?!" She yell in my face.

"I helped him find her, we were out kinda looking for his mate.." I says quietly, She just gets off my lap, making my wolf whine, and then she slaps me across the face.

"I thought you should see what happens when you find your mate and DON'T reject them" My wolf is starting to get angry too.

"I only rejected you because I don't want to kill you if I die!" She screams in my face and runs out of there, changing into her wolf. What does she mean kill me if she dies? Why were we in the house? Who lived here? 

All these questions are running through my head as I walk out and change into my wolf, heading home.
