Chapter 8

A few days after the last chapter

I have been in your head for a while now and I know you hate sharing a body but you really are an amazing girl. You have to talk to Travis. He really likes you and I know you like him. The voice of Hebe says in my head. I have been sharing my body with her for a few months now and she is almost ready to return to her former glory. I'm still not entirely sure why she chose me, it's not like I know how to help her. I mean, yes she is the goddess of youth and I am in my youth but I could get killed out on missions which would mean she would die or be fatally injured.  I would talk to him but I don't think he likes me like that, no matter what you say or what I heard. I know that even if I like him, I can't let it distract me from my duties- Hebe interrupts my thought speech to her with giggling and her voice sounds like it's gasping for breath after laughing to hard, Hehehe you said duty!  I waited till she calmed down before continuing. I have to be focused on several things, most of which include making sure things are in order for your return and, most importantly, not getting you killed. Hebe was silent after that, leaving me to get up and finally leave the infirmary. Even though I only spent a few days in there, it feels like eternity. Will was surprised when I woke up, all my injuries had healed. I guess that's a perk of sharing your body with goddess. He kept me in here for two days, just to make sure. Will said Lucy should be fine in about a week or so. 

I hope Travis will act normal, or at least as normal as he can get. He visited me these past few days but after that day, it has gotten sorta awkward. He has been bringing me random Hermes cabin toys and such to help pass time. Other than that we talk about the news of the day, there seems to be a lot while in in the infirmary, we talk about other camp stuff and avoid what happened over break and what happened that evening.

I continue to think about everything and I walk through my cabin, barley registering Miranda welcoming me back. I got my stuff, got in the shower and get clean. As I'm drying off I spoke aloud to myself 

"Look. It'll be fine. Travis will brush it off if I try to talk about it, like usual, so I need to act usual too. We will have to address this sometime, but for now we need to think about it separately. I need to focus on helping Hebe, doing my job and not getting killed." With that I shook my head and walked out to talk to Miranda.

When I got outside the cabin I saw Miranda looking longingly at the Hermes cabin, like she wanted to fly over there and never return. When I gave her a greeting she jumped to look at me, she was blushing. I don't know why I said anything but my voice sounded kind of strange as I said "So, where you waiting for someone to walk out of the Hermes cabin?"

She tried to keep her voice steady, "N-no." 

"Yeah sure. Anything happen between you and a certain someone while I was gone?" I say teasingly. She has openly admitted to me that she has a huge crush on Conner.

"I'm pretty sure more stuff happened between you and Travis than Conner and I." Miranda said with a growing smile. "Tell me everything!"

I see Will waving at me urgently and I silently thank him for saving me for the moment. "I can't I have to go talk to Will," I say, pointing in his direction. With that I dash off to see if there is any news on Lucy.

When I reach Will the look on his face tells me something has happened, good or bad I'm not sure. "Lucy is awake. She says she needs to talk to you." He says, looking worried.
