The sound of heavy breathing plagued the mother as she strived in a gripping pain of her insides. She panted as much as she could to ease away the kicking inside her belly. It was almost time. That day had come once more that all women had to face in a family. The day of child birth. "It's coming" She thought as she wimpered in agony. Rushed into the hospital on a gurny, with her worried-sick husband by her side, she was quickly escorted into the nearest patient room. The room itself looked as if it were prepared for her coming. All of the doctors awaiting her arrival. Once her face appeared, everything began to fall into place. The machines beside her began to thrum with power and function, and the doctors assembling her to the chair went without delay, propping her up and waiting. "Get a hold of yourself and clean that up, Dr. Laurel!" The chief of staff said with haste. The young female, a tad inexperienced, straightened out the apparatus. "Everything's in place" She said, and continued on, "vitals look ok. Heart beat is steady. No signs of physical trauma. No stress. She's good to go, Dr. Johnson." The mother began to pant harder as her gut cringed with motion, trying her best not to scream. Her husband held her hand tight. "Don't worry, honey. You'll make it. I know you can" he said with a soothened tone, ignoring his shaking body caused by the adrenaline running wild with paranoia. His wife struggled to speak, clenching her teeth together, and stared up at him almost in tears. "Don't let go" She spat out what she could before groaning intensely. The monitors flickered with activity, showing signs of life in the womb. It was getting closer. Dr. Johnson knelt down beneath her and prepared for the coming baby. "Alright, I need you to push on my command. Don't let up. I need your full cooperation" He said with eyes looking as if he were at the brink of losing his mind. The mother nodded and groaned louder as the pain grew more agonizing. The doctor propped himself upright and settled for the call. "Ready? Push!" He yelled. She responded with effort, and a blood-curdling scream. The monitors registering her heart beat skyrockted. Her body was engulfed in the worst pain any woman can endure, but she was making progress. The doctor readied again for the next heave. "Push!" The mother yelled even louder this time. Tears dripped down from her eyes like a never ending waterfall. With every push, she was losing her strength, yet almost there. "One more time. Push!" At that moment, no one had ever heard a scream like it. She screamed louder than anyone could ever have imagined, chilling the spines of all those who heard it. At that same time, her belly felt empty. All that could be heard in her ears was a baby, bawling its eyes out as all newborns would. Relief washed over the mother like a flash flood taking her away in bliss. It was all over. The pain had gone swiftly, and left all but an aftermention of a tremendous belly ache. The worst was behind her. The new child, born into the world. Dr. Johnson, meanwhile, quickly got to work in cleaning up the infant of blood and fluids. The remaining doctors in the room cheered in delight with an array of clapping. Her husband, kissed her with a gentleness only an angel could give. "You did it. Congratulations, honey" He said with joy, and wrapped his arms around her in a comforting hug. The crying settled down as Dr. Johnson wrapped up the quivering newborn, and took it to the mother. "Congratulations for the both of you, it's a boy" He smiled and gingerly handed the newborn to her. She took a peek into the bundled up blanket of sky blue to see her creation. The baby's face, drawn into sleep, napped peacefully in the mother's arms . The father, took a look over her shoulder and to their new son. She turned next to her husband. "He's beautiful" Said the mother, delightened at the sight, and continued to faze at the infants closed eyes. They then opened slowly to show a pair of dark, teal-colored eyes which looked up to the mother in serenity. She smiled to a sweet feeling in her body, the warming feeling of butterflies. The father then leaned to her ear, "What do you want to name him?" She thought for a moment, but quickly made up her mind. "I think I'll name him...Tanner." She then leaned closer to here son. "Welcome to the world, Tanner. I'm your mother, and this is your father" She said bringing him into his field of view, giving the newborn a soft kiss upon the forehead. The eyes of the baby looked up to his parents, and smiled back. As their eyes locked gazes, and unexpected glance of something appeared in the baby's eyes. A glow of orange, covering the entire eyeball, fluctuated left to right, and disappeared as quickly as it came. The parents looks became concerned with the sight. Something lingered deep down within their baby. Far out of their knowledge. To them, it looked like fracture light, but within the little bundle of the newborn, lied a dark and ancient power no human would have ever known in the world of Remnant. The birth of dark power
