A/N: I would like to aplogise for the previous bad version of this. I can't say this one is the best I wrote but I hope it's acceptable.
Day after day you would go through different floors of the multiplayer virtual reality that you were now trapped in along with many other players. You were never the type to go fight the bosses in a guild but you did fight the monsters around to sell the unnecessary items you would get.
However, you never fought alone. Kirito would always fight by your side and you were glad for it. The two of you were fine even if just by yourselves. Though something bothered you recently. In the last few days he completely dropped the idea of beating the game and escaping. You knew something was wrong since he wanted to go back home ever since the game started. But, every time you asked about it he would sigh and smile, changing the topic. Until one day you were set on finding out the reason.
"What's wrong Kirito? Come on, you know you can tell me." You said with a lightly saddened face as you sat down on a chair across him.
"Nothing really, but perhaps the stew you made today was a bit nasty." He said with his usual smile and soon got surprised once you didn't shout as you usually did when he insulted the food you cooked. Instead you had a hurt expression. Did he really trust you that little?
"Kirito, I need you to trust me, okay? What's wrong?" You repeated the question, you did sound worried yet your voice was stern.
"I said it was nothing. But if perhaps you told me why you were asking I could answer." He said with a small sigh and then you frowned.
"Lately you seemed not to wish to escape anymore... What's up with that?" You asked and he just glanced away with a small sigh.
"What's the point of going back (Y/N)? We won't see each other like we do now. We can't live together like here." He said as he looked back at you, locking his gaze with yours.
"Yes, but..." You stopped as you couldn't find the right words.
"But? Do you really want to leave that badly? Do you really dislike me that much?" His tone was quiet, almost sad. You quickly shook your head and took his hand.
"No! I love you Kirito!" He smiled as he heard that but is soon turned upside down. "But I miss my family. They must be worried sick."
"Isn't my love for you enough? Why would you need anyone else?!" He was getting unreasonable. You didn't know what to say so you just glanced away.
"I-I... It's not like that." You said quietly and he just smiled.
"Then, will you stay with me?" He asked with a smile never leaving his face.
You simply stayed quiet, you wanted to reply but you were confused... What has gotten into him!? Where are such questions coming from?!
The time to think was short as his expression turned into a frow. "(Y/N), answer me, now!"
You remained silent as you were occupied by the thought, you took a step back out of instinct though.
Kirito frowned, he took this as a sign of you lying even if you said 'yes'. He almost growled as he pulled out his sword, pointing it straight at your neck.
You froze for a brief moment before you quickly started backing away, afraid for your life. Soon enough though, he had you cornered with the blade of his sword mere milimeters away from your neck.
"(Y/N), I don't want to do this, just answer my damn question!" He said, his dark eyes slowly losing their shine as he looked at you, anger visible in his features.
You couldn't say anything, you were too scared! This wasn't like him! This wasn't Kirito you knew!
He was growing impatient as he moved the sword closer and closer until you could feel it cut into your neck. You bit your lip as you knew your HP was going down. If you didn't say anyhing, you'd be dead soon.
"I...I.." You began to speak but your voice was trembling from fear. He stopped cutting deeper for a brief moment.
"You... What?!" Kirito asked as he looked at you, a frown on his face and his glare sharp.
"I... I love you..." You said with a sigh as you looked down. You hoped that he will stop, you won't be able to hold on much longer.
He withdrew his sword and just smiled for a brief second. "L-i-a-r!" And with that he held up his sword before bringing it down on you.
"Why...?" That was the last thing you could say as your virtual body slowly broke into pixels, soon disappearing completely.
