Kise Ryota. His colour was gold. He had golden hair, the colour of the sun, amber eyes, the colour of a gem, his voice was of the greatest musical pitches. He was a bright person in general, and warm. He was welcoming and many loved him. He was energetic and funny, but, that was before.

Aomine Diaki. His colour was midnight. His hair was deep blue, the colour of the night sky, his eyes were the same shade as the deep ocean, and his voice like silk, enough to make one squirm in anticipation. He was a cold person. He slept whenever he could and didn't like people. He was a loner, but, that was before.

Kise is a model. He often got off from work late, he lived in a more secluded part of his new home town, having to walk through a small patch off woods to get home. He had been walking for ten minutes now, following a trail made previously by others whom he did not know. He sighed, tired but not exactly wanting to go home yet. He could be home in another five minutes if he would stick to his path made in the not-so-dense playground of trees. He looked up at a full moon, feeling the glow of its cold colour. He worshipped the moon, it being the natural mother of the sea, his favourite place. The mysteries that lie within, the power of the waves. The beauty that came with devastation. He loved it. It was his secret, him holding a mask during the day of the social butterfly with good looks and good taste, but during the night he was himself, why hold a mask in the dark when it can't be seen? His grandmother would always say, "At night the truth slips out, when it can't be held, you can't hide something in the darkness when it can't be seen."

Kise follows the trail, moon light guiding him. He shuffles through dead leaves in the crisp October air. He comes to a clearing. An abandoned playground, over grown with weeds and vines. He sits on a rusted swing, sway back and forth slightly, humming to himself, a lullaby from a past life. He parts his lips inhaling quietly and begins to sing, a quiet chorus that sounds identical to one a mother sings in a sweet tune to lull her scared child to sleep.

"Come Mr. Sandman, take thee away,

Into a land of enchantment,

Come now, my children, the times come to play,

Here in my garden of magic~"

The ghost of small children dance around, giggling, urging him to continue, they play, as fairies flutter around leading the children in dances and beautiful executions of bewitchment. He sings louder, as the children move swifter, and the giggling grows, matching the sound of his voice, casting spells of excitement and fun.

A small movement from the corner of his eye causes everything to stop, the children disappear and all that is left is the howling breeze of the night's cold wind. He slows his swaying and sits completely still, a shadow crossing the ground. A trick of the moon. He sighs and sways again, back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth. Slowly lulling himself to sleep. He jerks awake when he catches himself falling to the ground, he lands with a thud on the almost frozen grass below him, he groans and shivers, groans again, gets up and pulls his thin jacket tighter around him. It must be late. He checks his small wrist watch, half 'til one. It was very late. He scurries, and collects his bag, something he carries all of his work things in, and makes it home by quarter 'til one. His dreams that night are plagued by ravens in white rose gardens, and a mysterious dark skinned prince, locked in eternal damnnation.

The following night he gets away from work a bit earlier, and goes back to the park, he sits on the same swing and sways again, just like last night. Mother moon is still full, he waves to her, and she shines a bit brighter. He hums again, but a different tune this time, a tune that was once happy, but is now full of sadness, and past happiness. He smiles a sad smile, and sways slowly. He lips falling ajar as memories cloud his eyes and lyrics drip slowly from his lips like honey, bitter sweet.

"Dancing bears,
Painted wings
,
Things I almost remember,
And a song someone sings
Once upon a December.

Someone holds me safe and warm.
Horses prance through a silver storm.
Figures dancing gracefully
across my memory..."

The children appear again, dancing around in cute ball gowns and black suits, black and grey, fake smiles plastered on to their faces as the sadness reflects in their eyes, they are mourning and refuse to show it. They have to stay strong for the ones they love. The fairies lead them once again into to beautiful executions, but of waltzes, this time, and fake laughter. Kise, for the first time in many years, felt lonely, his soul was aching, his heart beat slowed, and his mind raced. Memories flowed past like a rushing river, and fell from his eyes like a raging water fall. Tears. He hadn't cried in quiet some time, and here he is, sobbing like a baby, he wanted to stop but he couldn't, "At night the truth slips out, when it can't be held, you can't hide something in the night when it can't be seen."

A chill rushed down his spine, it wasn't as cold as last night. He felt something was watching him. He grabbed his things and ran home, his dreams plagued by ravens getting stuck in thorns of white rose bushes, and a midnight haired prince dragging him into their eternal damnnation. Deep blue eyes staring at him through his curtains.

The next night he didn't return to the park. Only to have his thought haunted by the small play set the following day.

On the fourth night after his discovery, his mother moon was waning. She was disappearing right before his eyes, and soon he would watch her re-birth again, in two weeks' time. He sat on the swing just like before. He had left his stuff at his work site today, since he would be going back to morrow anyway. He looked at his wrist watch, half-past eleven. He yawned, and decided he would only stay a little while, just long enough to sing for his dying mother and the young children and their fairies. And the mysterious aura he always felt when he sat in the park. He grinned, humming a happy tune before moving his lips, as the children danced about, smiles on their faces and the fairies, no bigger than his pinkie flew about. He was joyous, his mother shined brighter, and the children danced a little faster as the fairies executed their beautiful mystifying dances.

"Hush little baby, your papa's gone to town,

Hush little baby, the sun is going down,

Hush little baby, your candy's in the sac,

Hush little baby, your papa's coming back."

The children smiled, all stopping to watch, Kise had his eyes closed, but could see perfectly, the aura was moving closer to him, grabbing his hand, and kneeling down, while he stilled hummed. He opened his amber eyes to see the midnight prince drowning in eternal damnnation before him, placing and innocent and sweet kiss upon his palm. He was very surprised to say he least, the children and their fairies had all ran away, and his mother moon had dimmed, as if the prince were a white horse who carried behind him nothing but death. He closed his eyes, willing the dread that filled his body to go away. Dread wasn't something he liked, he pulled his hand back and looked at the dark haired man. "I don't believe we've met. But you feel familiar. Have we met in a past life?" The prince smiled, "Perhaps, I can understand your feeling of familiarity. I followed a blind sense here. To you." Kise blushed, though it couldn't be seen in his mothers' dead light. "My name is Kise Ryota, and you've been plaguing my dreams for the past few days, I'll have you know. It's not very nice." He pouted lightly as the prince chuckled, his voice like fine sweet wine. Kise's blush darkened. He was going weak in the knees for this prince of eternal damnnation. The prince stood, holding out a hand for the golden haired by, his voice dripping, sweet. "Allow me to show you something?" "I haven't even had your name yet, I wouldn't follow a stranger blindly." The prince smiled gently, this was his Kise from their previous lives. He remembered the golden boy who would blindly follow his mother moon but not his eternal soulmate. The gem eyed boy must not remember him yet, he felt a sting in his heart, along with a tear, he knew how this would end if the boy couldn't recognize their previous love, even if he had recognize his aura. Kise looked at his wrist watch, quarter-past two. He had stayed too long now, and wouldn't have much time for sleep. He sighed, his day would start early tomorrow. "I must go, will I see you tomorrow?" "Yes, I will be here, along with your mother moon." Kise smiled, yes, he defiantly is familiar, but from where, a past life, filled with pain?

That night his dreams were filled with betrayal and hatred, and his dark haired nameless prince who was stuck forever in eternal damnnation, always looking for Kise.
