I waited outside of school only to realize that EXO were already there waiting for me! I began walking towards them, progressively picking up pace until I was in a running stance. Suddenly I tripped on my way and I was about to fall down but then I was pulled back up by Kai. "You alright?" he laughed. "Wow, you're even clumsier outside of school,". I got back on my feet and then saw Baekhyun glaring intensely at Kai. Hmm, I wonder what's up with him.
The limo arrived and we initiated our journey to the bakery. I pondered as to why I was actually joining them on this trip; after all, I was not going to be making anything.
"Hey, Baekhyun why do you want me to join anyway? I don't really see the point in having me" I asked with uncertainty.
"Oh, I didn't mention it to you? Well we were looking for a judge to test out our cupcakes, do you mind?" he requested. Oh! A judge? I guess I'll do it. After a short drive, we eventually arrived.
"Ah! My favourite band, come in come in!" the baker welcomed them with a smile. Then he saw me and curiously questioned, "Oh! Who is this girl, is she the judge for the day?", I didn't know what to do but smile in subtle approval. EXO and I were walking to the end of the elongated hallway, making our way to the kitchen.
"Seeing as you are the judge, I think it would be best if you waited outside whilst EXO make their cupcakes," the baker politely said to me. I nodded in agreement as I sat on the wooden chair outside, awaiting the completion of the cupcakes.
Forty-five minutes later and they were finally done! The boys partnered with one another, carefully holding porcelain plates stacked with the cupcakes that they had produced moments earlier. I was somewhat anxious when they placed the snacks in front of me; I contemplated whether or not EXO watching me sample their food was a tad strange - resultantly, I developed a conserved attitude and acted in an introvert-like manner.
The baker told me to taste them now and all of the guys kept looking at me. I tested the first anonymous batch of cupcakes, decorated with the EXO symbol in the centre with a heart shaped icing around it. I picked one cupcake up and took a bite. "It's really delicious! I loved the sweetness of the icing, however, they did put a thick layer of it, so it's a bit too sweet." Then I moved on to the next batch, this one had writing on that said, "We are one, We are EXO!" with a heart-shaped border around it. I took the bite... "I love the filling in this cupcake! The vanilla icing works really well with it too!"
I moved on to the next couple of cupcakes; some of them were a bit bitter, some of them were too sweet - but they were all still wonderful! It was now time for me to judge. After a few seconds of thinking, I decided. "Ok... um.. so the one that tasted better was... this" I pointed to the cream filled cupcakes and the winners turned out to be.. Kai and D.O.! Everyone clapped for their victory and it was done.
The members began attentively loading the cupcakes into the baker's van in preparation for their upcoming concert in Seoul. Kai and I had agreed to tend to the bakery whilst they were gone, ensuring that nothing would go wrong; hopefully nothing out-of-the-ordinary will happen.
"Congratulations on your cupcakes! I really liked them," I commented.
"Thanks, but I wasn't really expecting to win because this was my first time baking," he admitted.
I peered outside the bakery window, watching as the sky dimmed in colour and converted into a darkened blue hue. A familiar tune played from the stereo in the bakery, though I was unable to clarify what exactly it was. I turned to Kai, gazing at his smiling face which was looking back at me.
"You remember this song, right?" he asked.
Suddenly it clicked - this was the song that we had rehearsed our dance to in P.E!
"Yeah, I remember it," I responded. "Wasn't it.."
"The song for our dance," we both exclaimed with excitement. I realised that we never got our dance right due to my clumsiness... but... I don't know if I should ask in a situation like this. Well, here it goes...
"Hey.. Kai.." I said, I caught his attention and he gave me a glance. "Should we.. should we practice our dance? I know it's not the time but we've been stuck in here for hours and no-one has came for help, we could get ready for it". Kai gave me a smile and nodded. We stood up and Kai took my hand, leading me to the center of the room. I kept looking down trying to focus. "Don't look down" Kai suggested, "Maybe that's why we get it wrong, ok.. Instead of looking that way.. look at me."*Blush!
I started staring into his captivating eyes... there were no accidents, no mistakes; it was flawless. I began getting so lost in Kai's eyes that I stumbled, causing both him and myself to tumble over carelessly.
"I'm sorry!" I said with embarrassment. I opened my eyes only to see that Kai's face was barely an inch away from mine.
We were both speechless....
As Kai tries to get up from the fall, the bakery door opened abruptly and forcefully, a figure emerging from the darkness of the night sky, coming closer towards me and Kai.
"Baekhyun..?"
He froze on the spot, his face pale with severe shock.
