She was finally free.

65 years of training had finally paid off as she was allowed to travel to the place where she would invest her first contract; Earth.

"Charlotte Grey, please come forward."

At the call of her name, the petite blonde stepped forward to grab the diploma-like scroll. Her hazel eyes gleamed in happiness, a wide smile on her face as she graciously accepted it.

Her teacher, Charles Swanson, gave her a proud look. He was a strict, ruthless teacher who expected perfection from his students, but Charlotte admired him nonetheless. His teaching methods were always to the point and easy to understand, making it almost fun to be his student.

Bowing to her mentor of 65 years, she stepped down from the pedestal in the middle of the large room and headed back to her seat. Excitement coursed through her veins as she read over her form. It stated that she was officially a demoness and she now had permission to enter into a contract with a human.

Humans were weak, feeble creatures that had no control over their greed and most demons despised them, but not her. The blonde thought that they were just misunderstood beings, just like demons were. Most thought that demons were cruel and ruthless. Yes, some were the exact description of this, but not all. Demons had feelings just like any other, and families to care for.

Growing up with a human mother and a demon-born father, Charlotte never discriminated against other species. She was a half-breed, and that was rare. She made the most of it by seeing both worlds by herself and decided that everything was created for a reason.

Due to her strange upbringing, she had studied years and years about herself just to see how different she was from both humans and demons. It was frustrating for a while, until one day she found interesting information that piqued her curiosity. An Old Testament book that was specifically about hybrids.

A half-demon, half-human hybrid was a very rare case. It wasn't frowned upon in the Underworld, but it wasn't accepted lightly, either. Most demons thought of hybrids as weak, and incapable of doing everyday things a regular demon could do. Of course, that was just rumors on their part. It was a hybrids job to prove them wrong.

But their was one type of hybrid that Charlotte couldn't wrap her head around.

She was what you would call a Faer Demon. Faer being short for fairy. Despite the humorous name, the being itself was quite infrequent and possessed immense skill. These particular demons also had the ability to switch their forms however and whenever they pleased. This included their true form, their capturing form (to lure pray and possible contractees in), and their human form.

Everything else, she discovered, was either too smudged to read or the page had been ripped out by previous readers.

I want to know more sooner or later, but right now I should just focus on making contracts. I've waited too long to be distracted now, she thought begrudgingly, closing her eyes briefly before opening them in politeness for the other graduating demons.

"Why didn't you cheer for me when I was up there, you dunce!"

Flinching when a fist bonked the back of her head, Charlotte turned to glare half-heartedly at her long time friend. The pretty brunette grinned cheekily before sitting down next to her.

"Sorry, Ness." She muttered, rubbing her head and looking off the the side. "I wasn't really in the right mind, I guess."

Nessley pursed her lips, worry evident in her blue orbs at Charlotte's standoffish attitude. "What's the matter? We've graduated!" She tried to brighten the mood a bit more. It worked, and realization came across Charlotte's features.
