The cave was actually not bad, for a cave that is. It wasn't big but it was big enough. Zoro told Luffy to stay in the cave while he went to get firewood. Luffy did as he was told and paced restlessly around. He was bored out of his mind! There had to be something to do. He thought for a moment before looking at the mix of colorful berries that Zoro and himself had collected earlier. He smiled brightly as he separated the colors and began mashing them quickly until they were liquefied.
Luffy placed his hand on the stone cold side of the cave wall and focused hard as he smashed his fingers into the berries and brought them up. He stuck his tongue out in concentration as he pressed the berries, well now paint, to the wall. He worked quickly and began covered the walls in his art, and covering himself in the process.
Zoro returned with wood in his arms to find Luffy finishing the last of his art, the entire cave was covered. Zoro had naturally gotten lost, giving Luffy plenty of time to finish. Zoro put the wood down and looked around. "Luffy you did all this? I wasn't gone that long was I?" He looked down at where the berries used to be. "Luffy....where are the berries?"
"I used them to make paint!" Zoro's face turned stern as he quickly went over to him and grabbed him by the collar. "You idiot!!!! That was our food!!!" Luffy squirmed in his grasp. "I-I'm sorry Zoro I just missed them!" Zoro's expression softened a bit, along with his grip, as he looked around the cave closer.
What he saw took all of the anger out him immediately as he sat on the ground and pulled Luffy into his lap. All around the walls were people, friends. He saw Sanji, Robin, Usopp, Franky, Nami, Chopper, and Brook. All together next to the Thousand Sunny and the Going Merry. He drew a leapord, which must have represent Lucci. He saw Buggy, and crocodile, and every other enemy on one section. Then he saw Vivi and Coby and all friends on another section. And lastly he saw Ace, and who he assumed to be shanks. They were standing next to an old weird looking man, Sanji's chef, a giant, a big round guy, a group of pirates with instruments, a small girl with a sad face, a woman with pink hair, and the last one took his breath away. There was a small girl with blue hair and a sword. This section of the wall was everyone that is dear to each member of the crew, as they were described. Since We haven't met most of them, this must be how Luffy pictured them from the descriptions.
"Zoro do you like it?" Zoro looked down at the boy in his lap and hugged him tightly, laughing. "You moron, only you." He kissed his forehead. "But thats why I love you."
"I didn't want us to get lonely!" Zoro laughed a bit more as his moved Luffy off his lap. "Its getting cold, lets get a fire going. He moved some rocks into a circle and placed wood and leaves in them, smashing two rocks together to create the spark needed to start the fire. It was already starting to get dark when the fire got going, and Luffy had his hands on his arms. "Come here Luffy." Zoro crossed his legs and leaned his back against the cave wall, being careful to not hit any of the paintings, as he held out his arms.
Luffy scurried over to his swordman and plopped into his lap, burring his face into his chest. Zoro wrapped his arms around him. "Better?" Luffy nodded and yawned. "waaaarm." Zoro rubbed his back soothingly. "Don't worry buddy, first thing tomorrow were going to get back to the ship. Just get some sleep." He looked down at his berry covered captain. "Were also giving you a bath." Luffy fell asleep warm and comfy, and Zoro soon followed.
